Now im talking about the movies the title called Alien. For me, Alien 2. Awesome battle scences and frankly, that tank looked like a minivan. |

I'm not quite sure why you included any of the films past the second one in this poll. Anyway, I gave the nod to Aliens. The first Alien was a revolutionary and extremely scary film, but the second one was just the total package. It had scares, action, laughs, terrific dialogue, and great characters. I found the characters in the second film to be so much more richly drawn that I was much more affected by their deaths. Aliens also came out in the heyday of the super-macho 80's action flick, the Rambo era, and it stood the conventions of the genre on its ear. In many of its themes Aliens is a surprisingly subversive film. Mike |

I haven't actually watched any of the Aliens movies yet, but they're on my "to see" list. Granted, it's probably for the wrong reasons. I'm not interested in the cinema of it, but more to understand the slew of references in something else I like. I'm lame, aren't I? |

I gotta go with the classic--the first Alien. I like the longer set-up. I like that somewhat older style of storyline from the 70s and early 80s that you see in movies like The Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby, and Poltergeist, where you don't get a slew of gore or frightening jumps all up front and throughout, but rather a gradual build that shows the slow transition from a more realistic world that the characters live in to the much darker and ominous realm of which they become a part. |

I didn't think any of them were particularly scary...And Alien 3 wasn't that bad. I picked 2, though. |
