I've seen plenty of people creepier than PeeWee Herman...like Michael Jackson, for example.

He doesn't scare me.

But I can't help thinking, "Why did they put him on Adult Swim?"

I have wondered why they put it on Adult Swim. But after watching 4 episodes I saw all the innuendo.

Also possibly because they were trying to re-connect with his old audience. I don't know. He doesn't bother me, though.

Duh, something happened that surrounded him with controversy, and no well-meaning kids channel would show his show after that.

I heard he did something very sinister.

And I've never watched an episode.

It wasn't that sinister--he was just caught masturbating in a porno theatre. It's not like he raped some kids or something. I think people make too much of a fuss over that sort of activity anyways...but that's just me, and probably a topic better left for fuller discussion in another forum.

Pee Wee is weird, but not creepy. And I agree with what PMG said. I don't think it's that big of a deal, I mean, he didn't harm anyone afterall. The only thing I can really say is you know... he probably shouldn't have in case he got caught. I mean, he is/was a celebrity who did a children's program. Didn't he THINK it through? Probably not. We all make mistakes.

Piano guy, you could have just posted a link about it. We have young kids here.

Anyways, Pee-Wee rocks. I loved his show, and I now watch it all the time. I think I may buy the DVD's.

Pee-Wee rocked. If there are DVD's, I would buy 'em. I know there were video releases of old Playhouse stuff a while back. An infomercial ran for a while hosted by Terry and Randy. It was pretty cool.

Anyway, the only thing Pee-Wee related that scares me is the scene in the first movie with the truck driver ghost when she does that claymation demon face thing. Gives me the jibbles to this day.

Yeah, I don't have a credit card for a good reason. Okay, the second I get disposable income, I'ma gettin' Pee-Wee's Playhouse DVDs. After I get Futurama volumes 2-4

GUGUGH

I don't like him. Never did. He kills television. Literally, when I see him (even just a picture), I feel intelligence being sucked from my brain.

They say you can't kill a dead man. I say they're not trying hard enough. Try it and I call the Ghostbusters :)

I am plenty cool. Proof: I don't like Pee Wee Herman. 2 more episodes of Robot Chicken would fill that time slot sooooo much better.

Ah well, you're entitled to your opinion SR. If it's any consolation, Adult Swim will proabably unexpectedly dump it in a week or two. They like doing stuff like that.

I don't get the big deal about him. It's not like they captured him on camera and showed it to all those kids. He's fine.

Yay! A thread where I can actually find a use for that "puke" emoticon I made.

Pee Wee Herman. Ugh. Image He's creepy and his show is dumb. Like I said a few days ago, I watched less than a minute of that show, and had to change the channel before my brain totally melted.

Broken link on the emoticon--"The network path was not found." >> Not sure if that's a temporary issue or not. Just FYI. Now, to toastpaint...

Wow! I didn't know this thread would buy so much attention! He is scary. I don't think it's his show (never watched a single one) but... I watched the movie.... Suck a year of my life away (literaly do it maybe it'll take away the year with his movie in it). Liked it at first but when I look back upon it..... *jibble jibble*.... Specialy that Truck/ Bus driver scene. HELP!

:sb: :sb: Love the Sbemail, Live the Sbemail...

When I watch an episode of Pee Wee's Playhouse, the thing that crosses my mind most is "What is going through his head?". I mean, what does he think about as he prances about, talking in that annoying voice to those creepy looking puppets? Is he thinking "I sure am glad to be bringing joy to so many children!" or is he thinking "I wish I was dead". It's definetely a mystery.

I guess he's a little creepy.

Evarg, everyone's entitled to their opinion, even if you don't like it. Besides, it's not usually good to mees with a person that can edit your posts.

You need someone who can edit your spelling.

BTG, posting just to point out an error isn't really adding to the conversation. You've done this a few times.

Now, we have a guest, he's called Image
