Look, Im going Japanese style on people so in America, Final Fantasy 4 is 2 an final Fantasy 6 is 3. final Fantasy 1 is 1, ans 2, 3, and 5 werent relased in America. So final fantasy 4 is the one with cecil, and Final fantasy 6 is with Kefka. Ready, go!

P.S why is it called FINAL Fantasy if it had so many sequels?

P.S.S Thats right, because square soft thought this would be its last game.

If you didn't know, my original username was "JestersOfTheMoon," Jones nicknamed me "Lunar Jesters," and it got shortened. Jesters of the Moon is the most awesome track ever made for Final Fantasy: Zorn and Thorn's theme song in the awesome Final Fantasy IX.

Right now I only have FF10. But I'd love to get the originals.

You should have put the full titles because I like FF2 on the game pack Dawn of Souls but I dont know which on it is here. I also like FF Tactics.

Thank you. I still think Tactics should be there. Along with Crystal Chronicles.

I predict 7 will win this thing because of it's huge (and probably deserved) fan following due to it's intense storyline, it's groundbreaking format, and the first appearance of CGI cutsequences.

But I went with FFX.

Mainly because, while Tidus did get a bit whiny, he was at least a break from the moody hero type. I actually enjoyed the bliitzball minigame and would often derail the mission just to recruit the best players (mainly Al Bhed recruits) to dominate the league --- and win the component to upgrade Wakka's ultimate weapon. I thought the story was more clearly told than other FF's. (As good as FFVII was, the ending didn't make much sense, and it took Advent Children to explained what happened.)

Also, it had Auron. And Lulu. The coolest swordsman and the hottest female from the entire FF ouvre in the same game? FFX for me.

FF VII. I still remember when it was new and I saw the cutscenes for the first time. They were breath-taking back then!

I like the first one as you get to choose the characters you play and it was more difficult than the later ones (and not the bad type of difficult).

FF6 all the way. It's my third favorite RPG ever. While the second part of the game wasn't nearly as good as the first, I love this game. It was so dark and interesting! The whole thing with Espers, Magitek armors, the empire trying to bring back magic.. Ah.
But the main reason I love it so much? KEFKA! He's probably my favorite villain in anything ever. He rocks. The biggest drawback is the amount of characters. For some reason, I don't like it when I get like a million characters to choose from in an RPG.
And the soundtrack was outstanding too.

But yeah, FF7 is obviously going to win and as good as it was, I still think it's insanely overrated. But whatever.

EDIT: Firemarc, you're wrong about FF5. It DID come to America...

Having only played 6, 7, 8, and 9, I really can't say for sure. I might end up liking 10 more.

As of now, the best is 6, followed by 8, then 7, then 9.

I'm stuck on the final boss in 9. I have been for weeks. :[

You need to include Tactics and Tactics advance. Because advance is one of my favorite games period. So that's my vote!

Regular tactics is my favorite, but 10 is a close second. It was my first final fantasy, and man, it rocked. Plot, game play, everything. The ending was pretty moving, too.

IX.
The return to the classic style with the updated visuals was great. Also Quina was the most original character in any FF game. Eating enemies to gain new skills. Using a fork to attack. Amazing.

I only have Final Fantasy VIII on PC.
But I have played VII at my friend's.
Multiple times.
It ruled so much more.

I have played 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 10-2.

In order of awesomeness:

1, 9, 6, 3, 7, 2, 10, 10-2, 8.

Why is 7 so far down on the list? Because it really isn't that good of a game, I think. I still play the game and I do enjoy it, but it isn't one of the greatest RPGs of all time. It's kind of like the Matrix of video games. They feed you plot with a bulldozer, and follow it up with a thimble full of plot answers. Plus, the only thing it had going for it was it's "awesome at the time" graphics. I will also admit that it has the best magic system so far in a FF game. Other than that, the only reason it got so high on the list was the babe factor. Tifa and Yuffie are some hot mommas. (P.S. The main villian is an insane man with an Oedipus Complex.) (P.S.S. Every character is the same. Using Yuffie will be no different than using Tifa when it comes to fighting. The only way to customize your characters is with materia.)

9 is a good game, even though it's kind of a sleeper game for most FF fans. It has awful graphics, sure, but the gameplay and fighting kicked butt. It was also one of the only games since 1 to allow you to truly customize what you wanted your party to be like. It wasn't like 7 where every character was exactly the same, with different materia. Plus, Quina was hilarious.

I never really enjoyed 10 and 10-2. The plot never really got me, and Square pulling that cheap trick at the end so there could be a sequel was just pathetic. Apparantely, they can't think up new plots anymore, so they just make a sequel to an already mediocre game.

1 is my favorite, It is awesome, fun gameplay, without force feeding you 5 minute cutscenes and long, drawn out plot twists. There is only one really big plot twist in the game, and it happens right before the final boss. So there. It is also the only FF game where you truly get to customize your party. 4 Red Mages? 3 Thiefs and a Fighter? You can do it all. Plus, you get to fight T-rexes. Awesomeness.

8, of course, deseves dead last. I don't think I have to argue that one.
