I've got a soft spot for Strong SadxMarzipan... |

I thought Strong Bad and The Ugle One was funny. "Were you just first basin' it with that piece of loose leaf?" ...But as for things we haven't seen the Brothers Chaps do (and probably never will), I'd say Strong Sad+Homsar. |

O_o Anyway, I'll either go for Homestar and Marzipan or Strong Bad and The (Not-so) Ugly One. Anything with homosexual pairings will creep me out, especially when the author doesn't warn about it. Hetero is fine in my book. Just keep it within the limitations of that universe. Then I won't give that weird look to anyone. |

Way to be tolerant...[/sarcasm] Shipping pairings happen all the time within popular fictions, and most (if not all) are ones that the authors themselves never hint at. Just look at the Harry Potter fanfic world--there's a ship out there for pretty much every pairing imaginable. |

I'm the only person to support Strong Bad and Marzipan? Man, where's Pocky when you need her. She would support me on this. |

Hermione and Grawp. I sware that someone did that once. Eh, I don't really support shipping on Homestar right now. Seems out of place here. |

X , X or X . gross...To be honest, I think that any shipping within Freetown USA (even the HSR+Marzipan that's already established) is weird and possibly even gross. They just don't seem like the kind of characters that would get romantically involved with anyone...ever... |

Ewwwwwww. That is... yeah. Ew. Anyway, I don't really support any shipping either. It seems super-silly to me. |

It's probably a bad sign that I dislike all of those couples except SS/Marzi. xD Geez, it's a tough world out there for a slash fan. *Waves HRxSB fan around timidly* x3 Strangely enough, that's the most NORMAL one I support. *Recieves odd stares/brickings* ...I'll save all of us some pain and refrain from telling you about my Cheat Commandos shippages...x3 |

I mean...you slash fans can take the most innocent cartoon series and turn it into one of your perverted freakshows. Nothing personal, I just have a deep hatred of slash.... |

I've always failed to see how slash is a 'perverted freakshow'. >_> To each their own, though, I suppose~ ;3 |

Or they can turn it into a great romance that fits the characters perfectly. Uncommon but it does exist. |

Too true, 'Shamllow. =3 Being a huge slash fan, I've been treated to a few fantastically written, perfectly-in character fics. Only about...one in every ten fandoms, though. xD Sad but true, people often fumble so terribly when they try and write slash... |

It doesn't make sense on an immediate level, but... I think almost any shipping could be rationalized by a good backstory.

I don't mind people writing fics as long as they know it's outside of the canon. What I dislike is when people insist that characters that are just best friends are actually romantic partners...like Bert+Ernie, Spongebob+Patrick, or Frodo+Sam. These people just don't understand how deep earnest friendships and bonds of non-romantic love can go. And as far as "some freak on the Internet" having done Bert+Ernie...have you not seen Avenue Q yet? |

you all had to know i would comment on this somewhere, having been involved in a prominent HR slash fic. um. i guess i don't really know what to say. i don't wake up in the morning and decide "hmm, i feel like perverting and ruining some cartoon characters today." i look at it as a way to put my own twist on characters. i have other fanfics without that stuff too that i think are just as fun. it's just wherever the character development goes. i agree there is some slash out there that i really really don't like, where the characters are totally acting out of their personalities and it's just gross. but like was mentioned before, the backstory is everything. i don't think slash is wrong or gross if presented in an interesting, funny, and creative way. If anything I think slash is one of the hardest genres to write in because it is so difficult to be original and make it more than just an author oriented fantasy. if you want to know how hard it is, try finding a slash fic with a moderately developed storyline outside of just the relationship. i know i haven't found any in some fandoms. sorry that was sort of a tangent i guess. i know nobody was probably attacking or even directing any comments my way in particular. buuuut... to answer this topic finally, I do like HRxSB obviously but I also like HRxMarzi lots. That was fun to write for in my non slash fanfics and will be even more fun when i start the next tangent in my RWR fictions. that goes without mentioning my antiverse pairings *drifts off into thought* heh... antihomestar=teh pwn
