So, what platform do you prefer to play your games on?

As for me, it's impossible. Both have their good sides and lacking sides.

Remember to consider controls, graphics, uniqueness, and functionality.

So, what do you like?

Handheld are great, but you take a severe lack in quality for games.
"Oooh that games looks great, for a handheld anyways"
"Whoah! That game is so huuuge, for a handheld anyways"
I could go on.
Maybe my opinion will change when Critereon makes a handheld game.

I could never choose. Handheld games are easy to pick up, you can take them everywhere, and they're great fun. But console games are very deep and elaborate...

I can name a lot of great, quality handheld games. There's plenty of 'em out there!

Consoles can be much more complex (can't create DQ8 on PSP), so I choose consoles.

I just adore my handhelds. Simple to control, and the games can be taken anywhere and can have a lot of gameplay.

Defenitely consoles. Handhelds are sometimes too small for me to see well, due to my bad vision. Usually it's not too bad, but in a 3D game such as Super Mario DS (The 64 remake) it'd be harder to see things that were far away opposed to when you're playing it on a console, with a much bigger screen.

I have that same gripe with a lot of handhelds. 'Tis why super gameboy was invented eh? I found that emulating gameboy games to fullscreen on my computer makes them 5 or 7 times more fun to play.

I prefer handhelds, the whole experiance is more private, so it's more of a getaway from the world. Plus, on handhelds you don't have to quit if you get interupted by say, the power going out.

I feel much more relaxed with a console. With handhelds, I tend to loom over the screen, mashing buttons and getting a bit worked up over a tiny screen--it's like straining to do microsurgery or something. Plus battery life on the handheld systems I've played totally suck. With a console, I feel like I can lay back on the couch and stare at a big screen far away from me.

Consoles win for me. Handhelds are great, too, but Consoles are just better IMO.

Ah, but what if the battery runs out?

Then I plug it in. A three second delay is better than a three day delay.

You just said that the power went out. How are you going to plug it in if you don't have any power.

Anyway, I like both.

But the odds of the power going out in your house are generally very slim (and even moreso to last as long as three whole days), whereas the odds of your battery power going out happens much more often, unless you only play your handheld EXTREMELY sparingly.

Defietley Consoles for me. I have never actually had a hand-held gaem for myself, though. I have played GBA roms and I find a large percentage of the games are easy to get bored in. I am getting a DS though, which I am very excited about.

Bottom line, I love my consoles.

i have to say handhelds. it's a lot easier than carrying your console and TV around town.
a big concern is battery power. many people say that the PSP has an extremely low battery life, but mine has never ran out on me.

I actually play my DS more than my Gamecube, but that may be just because I don't have any good game for the Gamecube.

I like consoles. Although I love really addicting games like tetris or solitaire and it's great when I can play them wherever I am.

Consoles. I feel that handheld games should only be for short, puzzle type games, like the game and watch gallerys.

I prefer PC, but hypothetically, I would choose the console. I have no beef with handhelds, but when I'm out and about, it's usually because I'm going somewhere, and don't need said handheld to keep me busy. Yes, it can pass the time if you're waiting for a doctor's appointment or something, but personally I've always found it rather rude to absorb yourself in a video game whilst you wait.

Truth be told, I'm not exactly sure why I feel this way.

I'm with Skajunkie on the PC thing. I also like consoles better. Mainly because I have nowehre to go. If I'm waiting in a doctors office or something, I just slip off into my own mind. Consoles offer a better overall experience for me. I can get more comfortable just sitting back playing a game then I can hunched over and looking at a small screen.

I'm going with handhelds.
Mainly because these new ones (like the DS and the PSP) have great graphics, are rechargeable, have some great ports, and can be played outdoors or indoors.

P.S. The DS Pwns the PSP.
