Post subject:  Pokemon or Digimon (the shows)
the 2 animated shows with the word mon in it controlling little creatures. Which one was your favorite? Mine was digimon the first saga.

1st Saga: The Best of them all, and won the digimon bowl, hosted by Terry Bradshaw. Not Kidding!!!!!

2nd Saga: Good, but lacking the old characters. Still, it was pretty good.

3rd Saga: Ok, this is where it got messed up. digimon can live in the real world and they go naked in orbs?! That deserves a wtf.

4th Saga: So bad if I ever see a episode i cry myself to sleep by how bad it is.

Diiigimon all the way. Sure, Digimon got kinda sucky after the second season, but I loved those first two...

Pokemon was cute, but it always bored me. D: Digimon always had so much more depth.

So true. Some Digimon episodes made me cry. True, i was a couple years youger. Like in the secod saga when the villian went good and recapped on his brothers funeral. Also, when was the pokemon world in any world danger? The only Pokemon episode that made me cry, (Im big on crying) was when they all broke up.

Yeah, same here. Heck, they'd probably still get to me if I watcherd 'em again.

And same thing on the Pokemon front...There are hardly any touching ones there.

I only stayed loyal because of 'The Rocket Gang'. xD

American Idol reference
judge 1: dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog that was cool.
Judge 2: It was awesome. But i say that to everyone.
SImon: it sucked go home.

Anyway, who was your favorite character?
First Saga: Izzy. cant beat the smart guy. anybody whos smart and likes bugs is cool by me.. except Lucas from the movie Lucas.

Second Saga; Izzy again. even though he is barely in it.

Third Saga; That buzz cut kid. If I had to choose

Fourth Saga: Its too painful to speak of. -Sniff- Anyway they all suck.

Sora was always the cutest. =DD

2nd: Kari! Eee! She was so cute! x3 And TJ.

AND GATOMON WAS ALWAYS MY FAVOURITE DIGIMON. =D

And I didn't watch any of the other seasons because they sucked.

I own the movie, too. xDDD That's how cool I am.

You were right with denounce. Denouncing evil fits in with protecting and uniting, which is the opposite of what Team Rocket's mission is. Typical Jessie and James screwing up their Team's motto.

Digimon.

And, as everyone has said, for the depth to the characters and story.

The fact that Ken was so filled with sin that he went as far to kill Wormmon, his only friend, was very moving.

I should also say it was my first Anime series, and it got me interested in the genera.

While the Pokemon games beat the Digimon ones hands down, I preferred the Digimon anime to the Pokemon one, for a couple of reasons. First, there was the obvious character development and deep story plots. Pokemon's basic story was always TEAM ROCKET'S GONNA STEAL PIKACHU OMG. Second, the Digimon could talk. Except for my favorite episode of Pokemon (that one where all the Pokemon are alone and they get translated), you could never understand them.

Of course, I haven't watched either in years, so things may have changed.

Ah, but here's the thing. I stopped watching after the second saga. That was the one with Hawkmon, right? He's the only character name I can remember.

The Pokemon video games rocked the house way more than any of the Digimon games, but the Digimon cartoon was way awesomer. "Digimon, digital monsters, Digimon are the CHAMPIONS!" Although even though it had more of a story than Pokemon, it still wasn't much of one. Cool show, though.

Palmon and the first season were my favorite digimon and saga, respectively. Fourth season is super-dumb, but the third season was kind of cool in that it had a LOT of kids going to the digital world and not just the kids with Digimon.

Because I am a TOTAL dork, here is my made-up Digimon.

Baby stage: Millamon. A little black millipede thing.
In-training stage: Squirmamon. A fuzzy green caterpillar with purple feet.
Rookie: Natamon. A purple fluffball with big blue eyes, insect wings, shoes, and a flower on her head. Her attacks are both Pollen Bubble (shoots a big yellow bubble from her flowe) and Solar Stare (LASER VISION!).
Champion: Fluttamon. A purple butterfly with big wings, covered in spots and stars, with big bear-like claws. She was also the first Digimon I ever created. Her attacks are Wing Razor Swords and Raining Nectar.
Ultimate: Lunamon, a witch/hawk/thing. It had big wings and four big slashing things coming out of its neck. Her attacks are Moon Cutter and Lunar Lightning.
Mega: I never really decided on her mega form. It was either Magemon or Skygriffinmon. Huh.

Haha, I loved that one.

Yeah, and I agree about the Poke plots. There were only a few...depth-full ones without the 'PIKACHU WILL BE OURZ' plot to it...

digimon was better, i mean it had some plot instead of Pokemon's "Pokemon of the day" type episodes and the "Oh no! Pikachu is stolen, oh well, Pigioto, use wing attack on the ballon, Pikachu thunderbolt the net" routine gets old.

Yeah, definitely. But you could sort of see that kind of thing in the first series anyway. Whole group in trouble, one saves the day. But I still thought Digimon was better.

The end of Digimon 02 made me cry :blush: I watched it religiously from about halfway through Adventure to the end of Tamers. By that time it was getting too messed up and I only watched a few of Frontier, and hated them. Savers looks like it might be good though.

Digimon. Except for that whole thing with the most kickass digimon of all getting killed in 2 episodes, while the most annoying digimon of all time was killed in like 30.

You know what I'm talking about, I assume.
