Its a problem I sometimes have, do you? And know inches jokes or anything. This is my first poll with an other.

No. Definitely not. I don't think Ramrod is any better than BTG (or any user for that matter), or vice versa, and no one else should either.

Not at all. I mean, what, should you hate a good person with a low post count and respect a jerk with lots of posts? That's just silly.

ALRIGHT WHO VOTED PEOPLE ARE BETTER WITH MORE POSTS?! I AM GOING TO GO SEVEREUS SNAPE ANGRY ALL UP IN YOUR FACE!!!!!! Unless you dont have many posts, because I dont want to sound like a Hippocrite. Wait, no, you probaly have a lot of posts. BACK TO CAPS!!!

Of course not! I measure people by their awesomeness. And since this forum is chock-full of awesomeness, posts don't matter. :)

Author:  ramrod [ Sun Aug 27, 2006 4:27 am ]
Post subject:

I judge you all by your posts. By judge, I mean I view you all as inferior.

Honestly, post count doesn't matter. Someone with two posts can be as cool as someone with a thousand posts. The way I see it, the more the posts, the less of a life they probably have.

Author:  Alexander [ Sun Aug 27, 2006 4:35 am ]
Post subject:

Absolutly not.

It just means that someone posts less here then others.

Author:  Bugkiss [ Sun Aug 27, 2006 4:39 am ]
Post subject:

Or, it could also mean that they tend to post in Forum Games and A&C.

I don't really care how many posts anyone has. And I'm glad that no one (as far as I know) does. Otherwise I'd be ignored completely. ;)

No, heck, Inverse Tiger is better than Clan. Point made.

...Why would you even make this poll?

Obviously, no.

The only time I do anything of the sort is when I see a user with a high post count; then I think, "oh, User X is a regular."

I used to think that a high post count was what made you a popular here. I would go into any replied thread and post something, however spammy. Now I avoid boring threads, because people don't care how high your number is.

Scratch that. Once your number gets into triple digits. For some reason the numbers with less than three digits stick out more, and then you notice the newness of the person.

Post subject:

No. Just no.
My choice isn't up there.

"No, post counts are completely meaningless."

They are. The only way someone's post count means anything to me is when they obsess over it/celebrate it (celebrating when you hit funny numbers is one thing, but celebrating because you make 50,100,200, etc is just annoying).

I consider a person a "regular" once they hit a thousand. But, then again, I'm on here a lot and I dont have 1000.

We have a whole bunch of people on here that don't have 1000 posts and are still regulars. Just look at Power Crunch, or Cyco, or even [s]Kittie Rose[/s] Swooshoman. Some people just might like to stay closer to A&C and the Forum Games, but can still be regulars.

But overall, re-read what Rad said. He put it perfectly.

No, and you can see why.

Well, there are two different defenitions of measure. Of course I don't think less of someone who has less posts, but if I'm new to a forum, I often decide who to ask questions or "trust" with answers more based on post count (And joined date, too)

Author:  ChickenLeg [ Sun Aug 27, 2006 6:16 pm ]
Post subject:

Here's how it goes psycologically for me. Anyone with a higher post count that I don't consider a jerk and who has been here longer I tend to respect more. Those who weren't here as long or who I considered jerks I tend to want to be mean to. I don't act mean towards them, but they don't garner as much respect for me. I would respect Alexander more than COLA, for example.

Of course post count is meaningless, except for (as was said) new members trying to get a quick read on who knows what they're talking about

Dunno if celebrating post-count milestones means you "care about post count", tho. It's just like celebrating your forumday. Good celebration marks are probably 100, 500, 1000, and any other thousand until ten thousand (any day now rammy), but it shouldn't be in-your-face or the cause of its own post. See end of post for example of restrained celebration (even though this isn't a good number).

If there's a way to remove the post count display, though, maybe that would be a good idea.

Ew. No. I rarely ever look at someone's post count unless they point it out. heck, I don't even know how many posts I have, because I never check. *goes to check*

EDIT: 402! *waves finger in the air* Yaaaay....

Nope. Post count = absolutely meaningless. Especially for those who post a lot in forum games. Like me, for instance. My post count including forum games and arts and crafts is 1493. My real post count? 151.

Yay!

Also, along with what everbody else has said, Post counts aren't a very accurate measure of people's posts, for instance, Ian has like 4000 more posts than Dormar and but it only says that he has 1800 or something, and just look at The Snork...

Nope, no. Well, when I first joined I saw people with higher post count to have joined earlier, then I saw the "Joined date" XD

I'll be honest. I kinda, sorta, sometimes do. Not very often at all. Howeverrrrrrr... users with bad grammer DO tend to have a very low post count, (I did too!) and use chatspeak. It isn't that I think of them as inferior, just that I would trust them only a bit farther then I could throw them. Users with high post counts oviously haven't gotten permenately banned for not sportsmanliking everyone, so thats a plus!!!

So... No I don't. Not really.
