Imagine, It's a dark night, you're at the computer screen.
What would you prefer, would you prefer having the lights on, off. Or would you just turn a lamp on.

I voted "other" 'cause I don't care. If the lights are already on, I'll leave them on, and if they're off, I'll keep it that way. The computer provides enough light, anyway.

On. I'm just not comfortable if the only light is coming from the computer screen- I mean, I can see okay and everything, but I'm used to being in a light room all the time.

I like the lights to be on. Though, I don't see why you have the option "I have a lamp on my computer desk" That's a light, too...

hmm.
I should have said Light switch on or off......
Well the lamp one would mean like partial light.
And there will be a least one who will choose the option

Anyway, I prefer the lights on.

Lights only on when absolutely necessary. Electric light is teh satan. It screws with your melatonin & stuff.

People say kids today can't help but stay up until 3AM, but even when I was a teenager, if you put me out in the woods on a camping trip, just a an hour or two after it got dark me & everyone else were ready to sleep. Remove light, remove distractions, no more sleeping problem. And good sleep went a long way to getting me out of depression, and bad sleep from staying up all night on the compy was probably keeping my brother in there.

Soooo.... NO LIGHTS!
And get off my lawn! :p

I gotta turn the lights on eventually as it starts to get dark, because otherwise, I can't see my keyboard.

I have the lights off. Like right now. It's starting to get dar, and it's a cloudy day. As long as I can see the keyboard like this, then darkness all the way.

Having the lights off gives things a cool effect. Like darkness. And the light gives light pollution. So lights off.

Lights off.

I don't need to see my keyboard to know what I'm typing.

On. Staring at a computer screen in the dark is a surefire way to accelerate vision loss, not to mention give yourself a headache.

What he said.

I like having the light on, whether it's the room light or a lamp. The compiter screen doesn't provide enough light for me.

I never got that. I'm not saying it's wrong, but I don't see how having light on will make things easier. I would think it'd make things harder on your eyes.

Of course, I'm no opthamologist/optometrist.

Off. I can type fine without seeing the keyboard, (YAY FOR TYPING TUTOR!!! HOW MANY WPMS CAN YOU REACH?!?!?) and I can see the screen a bit better. And it saves energy! 'cept of course, later at night it starts getting creepy and you could've sworn you just saw the ghost of general Tso... Then on goes the lamp. :p

Hm.

On is nice, a lamp is cool too, but off just has that cool aura to it, especially if it's like 3 AM. Yeah. So off.

I always have the lights off. I hate having them on, for some reason.

As for the whole "Hurts your eyes" thing...my eyes are the worst ever. I highly doubt this would push me over the edge. Plus, I've never got a headache from this, nor have my eyes ever hurt.

I love the dark. I don't even have lights on when I need them half the time. If I need to read something at night by the computer, I usually use the computers illumination.

I prefer them on. It puts less stress on the eyes.

I like it on after midnight,'cause it gets a little creepy around that time with them off. But any other time during the day, I don't really care. So yeah, I chose on.

Even during the thick of night... I'll always have my lights turned on. Why? Well, it's because I usually do more than just play on the computer during night. I'll watch TV, doodle, eat my late-night snacks, even finish up homework assignments (if I have any).

I do have a lamp by my computer, but I rarely use it. I like to be fully aware of the environment around me. I suppose the TV and the computer generate a bit of light, but it's just not enough captain! Lights on all the way, I'll turn them off when I'm watching late-night TV and nothing else, but that's about it. Preeeeow.

I bet it does. Straining to see things in the dark can be pretty bad for the eyes. Or so the legends go...

If I were you, I'd start an excessive consumption of carrots! Hooray for Vitamin D! :p
