I got just a regular TV. No one uses it that much, aside from Canadian Idol night where my mom makes us all crowd around. I don't see the need for flat screen TVs.

Looking at the pics of your living room, I'd say a 42 inch Samsung DLP would be perfect. They aren't too heavy, either. They weigh in at about 45 pounds.

We're moving to a bigger place soon, but yeah, that's probably a good size for us. Unfortunately, that one (and most like it) are still a few Benjamins out of my league right now.

An ordinary tube... tube. You know, can we even call them "boob tubes" any more if they aren't tube-containing anymore?

I don't need a fancy TV. My TV serves only two purposes: To let me play video games and to watch Mythbusters, Zatch Bell, and Avatar. Since I'm getting a Wii, hi-def output is no issue, and really, do cartoons need extra pixels? (And the explosions on Mythbusters are big enough to be seen without extra tube power. :P)

Not only that, but unless you're getting HD broadcasts of shows that are shot in HD, you're not going to see a benefit.

well, i'm sorry, InterruptorJones.
blame my sciencey-type book. they call them cathode tubes.
i just had a thought. if a LCD TV were to work on the same principles to a LCD monitor, doesn't that make them useless to light guns?

Wikipedia knows. (Uh, and for the record, the only difference between an LCD monitor and an LCD TV is that the later has a TV tuner.)

quit talking like that! i'm not dumb!

a little more research i did shows that the larger a plasma screen gets, the more bad the quality gets, and it gets really terrible for showing movement, like the background in lol, internet.

We have strictly CRTs here. I would like to get an LCD someday, because I HATE glare. And they're virtually glareless. But that'll have to wait until I have some money. A lot of it. And that'll be a long while.

Don't listen to the drum-beat of the profressives! CRTs will live forever! They said LPs would go the way of the dinosaur and, thanks to scratching, the vinyls live on! Long live the regressive revolution! :senor:

"Nah, just jam it in there. I'm sure that thing's forward-compatible!"
