It's a very simple poll. Which gaming company do you like better. Only the video game aspect of them. No microsoft or anything like that, either. Just those two.

Damik, add another tally, I'd be happy to be on your list.

NINTENDO = MY LIFE. D:

Both..
Neither is superior from a grand perspective.
I cut my gaming teeth on Nintendo, but Sony has awesome technology and their playstation pretty much revitalized the dying home gaming industry.

So, umm, I vote both.

Well, Sony may have some of the greatest of the latest games, but Nintendo has tons of classics. What does Sony have, just Sonic.

That's Sega. Though I may have just taken away the one thing you thought Sony had...

I picked Sony. Because I'm a rhythm gamer.

I've always been a Nintendo man? Why? Well... there's nothing to it really. I just love Nintendo. Ever since I picked up my first N64 controller, I've been all about Nintendo. From then on it was my Gameboy Colour, my Gamecube, and beyond! Plus... well... Mario.

No offense, but if you have never held one of those good old blocky rectangle NES controllers, you don't know nintendo. 8-Bit, baby!

Oh. Well, I don't know gaming I guess. But seriously, what classic game does Sony have?

I've been a Nintendo game fan all my life, ever since I got a SNES when I was 2. So Nintendo.

But didn't Nintendo do that in the 80s? I think home gaming was closer to death back then than it was in the 90s.

Uh...nothing. Sony came around in the 90s, after all the classic games had been established. The only "classic" one could argue that they had would be Grand Theft Auto, but they don't have that anymore.

Ace Nintendo did ignite the gaming industry (or continued it from Atari), you're right. The industry did die out some after less than spectacular performances by the Sega Saturn, N64, etc. Computers were taking away gamers from consoles. Consoles couldn't really keep up with the graphics, sound, etc of PCs. The Playstation came out and the console market heated up again. (that's how I remember it, anyway)

I have to choose both. Nintendo's a classic, but Sony's pretty great as well.

Okay, not to points fingers at anyone, but I'm sick of people thinking the majority of people on here are mindless Nintendo fanboys.

Having owned or played both Sony consoles and Nintendo consoles, I have to say Nintendo is better, purely from a games standpoint. Although the Gamecube hasn't really had any good games lately...it's the classics, like the Metriod and Zelda series (which are still making good games today) that I really grew up on.

The Gran Turismo Series.

I voted Sony.

Nintendo hasn't had a good system since SNES, in my opinion.

I'm a fan of the Gamecube, but only because of Smash Brothers Melee..
That game could make ANY system seem awesome.

Sony, three simple letters. G T A

If i'm basing it off of when they were both around together. Ps1 pwned teh N64. Ps2 pwned everything.
But The DS does pwn the PSP. So sony wins 2-1. Plus Sony makes a great TV.

EDIT: CD brought up a good poitn about rythm gaming. Nintendo only has one junky DDR rip-off. And don't say donky konga 'cause we gots TDM.
Plus Rez and Gitaroo man.

Exactly.. "All these years"

Nintendo was on the block for a good 10-15 years before Sony got into the games business.

Right now, Nintendo. Sony created the PS2, probably the most well rounded 6th generation console. It's still getting lots of great games, like Guitar Hero II, God of War II, Okami, Final Fantasy XII, Yakuza.

As for next-gen consoles, the Wii is best, it's the most innovative, and it's not HD-focused, instead of gameplay focused. The DS has way better games and isn't useless like the PSP.

I haven't been too attached to one side or the other. I played an Atari when I was little, though I barely remember it. I've also had the NES, Genesis, N64, and Xbox. So, I've kind of jumped around the map. I like Nintendo characters best, but Sony does make some good quality games. It just depends on what experience you're looking for in games. For me, Nintendo is a little better at providing wall-to-wall fun while Sony goes deeper and makes a full experience.
I vote Nintendo.

I have held the old blocky rectangle NES controllers before. I just haven't owned a Super NES console. I do plan to purchase one though...

Even though Sony has a lot more modern RPGs (and RPGs are my favorite genre), I have to go with Nintendo because of their Good Portable Systems and their franchises.

Silent Hill
Crash Bandicoot
Tombi
Parappa the Rapper/Um Jammer Lammy
Oddworld
Spyro
Gex
Metal Gear Solid
GTA

Gitaroo Man
Ico
Vib Ribbon

...are just a few reasons to prefer Sony. Yes, a couple of those may have appeared on Nintendo consoles too (MGS) but the original, most popular versions are generally on Sony consoles.
