I don't know what the difference would necessarily be between "instrumental" and "original," since most instrumental music (e.g. Zelda, Final Fantasy, Elder Scrolls) for video games is original for the game itself...since, ya know, the game makers hire composers and stuff. |

i like it in goldeneye, (being the only game i play) where it has some basic music, but i mostly like to hear the sound effects. |

i like music that is an extension of what the level is like. if its a dark level with lots of corridors it'll have quiet music. if its a big open area with craploads of guns then it'll have really fast paced music. |

A lot of newer games i prefer to only have sound effects, but any Snes or before games I love the midi-type sounds. |

Bee boops. EDIT: No intention of being too whiny, but the poll choises are really vague. What exactly is the difference between an original soundtrack and an instrumental soundtrack? |

I went with assembled tracks. I have devoted several weeks on iTunes tracking down music from the SSX series. Good stuff. |

Whatever the theme to SMB is. I don't particularly like the game (so I'm a heathen, so what?), but the theme music always gets stuck in my head. |

Caustic Window wrote: i like music that is an extension of what the level is like. wow i agree too much, i also like hte assembled soundtracks like the ssx and burnout 3,good stuff!!, but umm sorry about the vauge choices i made this poll in like 3 seconds, but i basically meant original as in music specially composed for the game and instrumental as in no words, but not nessicalarly original.

well, one thing i don't like is when something dramatic happened (OMG THE BASE IS FULL OF EXPLOSIVES TO GO OFF IN 15 SECONDS!!), and it has slow music, as if in a water cave. (OMG WATER!!) |

The instrumental... thingies. Donkey Country 2 has some of the best music I've ever heard. |
