Just for fun: Which is your favorite Monopoly piece?

Fun fact: the Battleship and Cannon pieces were orriginally from a 1940 game called "Conflict." The game failed, and the pieces were recycled in Monopoly.

I like the car because it's fun to say zoom-zoom as you pass GO.

I love the top hat. Just because it's all classy.

Not sure what the spinning wheel or iron man are. DId you mistake the cannon for the spinning wheel, maybe? It kinda looks like a wheel...

Anyways, I'm usually the car, so car it is.

OK, the "iron man" thing was a typo. I slapped my forehead after I posted that one. I meant iron.

Also, I think the cannon is the spinning wheel. Curses: I took the list off of Wikipedia, and me thinks the entry was incorrect.

The dog, because the juvenile humor possibilities with that one when you pass your opponent's houses are endless. ;)

The car. Now that I looked at this, I just realized we're missing a lot of pieces...

It's got to be the car for me. I don't know why, but I always loved the car.

Probably the Top Hat in my eyes. I don't know why... but I just have this strange obsession with top hats. I guess I have ever since my elementary school days. Me and some friends put on this play in front of the whole school see. In the first scene, we cooked up a little musical routine with dancing, singing, etc. We just HAD to have top hats. So we bought some cheap ones and put them to good use. I think I still have my top hat actually...

I voted for the thimble, but the best piece is definitely the thimble with the top hat on. It's DIY Monopoly.

Glad I'm not alone in these sentiments! The top hat is very "huffy-puffy," as we say in our household ("huffy puffy" refers to anything resembling the traditional upright three-piece rich stiffs--the comical stereotype, ya know, with big bristly walrus moustaches and monocles and such).

And I think the car is so popular because the box cover shows it on Boardwalk (the most coveted piece of real estate in the game, usually), so people get the subconscious idea that being the car piece will lead them to winning the game.

The battleship was always the most coveted token among my friends. But i don't play monopoly anymore, there is never a friendly game of monopoly.

I always play as the dog or the thimble. Seriously. The only time I've ever used another piece, I lost horribly (and very quickly).

My connotation of the top hat is that old-timey period. With all kinds of classy stuff.

The invention of the silver screen. Swing Dancing. Gangsters (Not those of the hip-hop variety either mind you, the kind who wore zoot suits and top hats. I've always wanted to be one of those kinds of gangsters, but I digress).

Classy. Probably something Alberto would like, just a guess.

I liked the wheelbarrow, cause I thought it symbolized dragging the lifeless bodies of your foes around. I was a competitive 8 year old.
