I know one year he was Michael Moore, but he seems to be a wraslin figure most of the time.
No... come to think of it, it was bubs who was Captain Lou Albano. Sorry I got it wrong...
I was on about CoarchZ being an old school rapper I think.

Pom-Pom
Kamala (the only wraslin figure Pom-Pom was)
Kool-Aide
The Stay puff Marshmallow Man
Michael Moore

Bubs
Captain Lou Albano
Re-Run
Mars Blackman
Mel

CoachZ
Flavor-Flav (Public Enemy)
Kid (From Kid and Play)
Humpty Hump (Digital Underground)
Kool Mo Dee (not really old school, but close)

Sorry about that, thanks for being that up, I don't know why I thought Po-Pom was Cap Lou?

Just folks that say it's not funny at all. I admit you should have a certain sense of humor to enjoy H*R... but it's still funny. :)

So was this a reference to something clever and 1936-y? Or was it just the BC being weird for the sake of being weird?

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: I read that a ghost.

1936 MARZIPAN: You read that a ghost what?

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: I read that a ghost is.

1936 MARZIPAN: You read that a ghost is what?

THE HOMESTAR RUNNER: I read that a ghost is here in town and there's a 27 cent reward for its capture.

It's not a reference to anything on the site, though it may be one for some old-timey movie I don't know of. I'd say weird for the sake of being weird.

I didn't like this one as much as i the previous years. I guess they left out alot of things that i am used to (costumes, finding homsar, etc.). Hopefully Fraterus Chapmanus come out with the regular Homestarloween soon
Don't worry my dear SZ, because this is only a little something somethingto hold us over until the real one comes out.

Loved it. I like the old-timey stuff at least as much as the regular stuff, if not more. I crack up every time I think of: "Presented In Grand Old Sound-o-Vision". I also love how The Homestar Runner sounds more and more like a dumb hick in every new Car-Toon.

I'm pretty mixed about this one. While it's a nice parody, and has some funny parts, I didn't think it was that great.

Highlights: The Strong Man dancing
Fat Dudley's new showtime-y voice
The word Pietimer (Come on....try and say pietimer without laughing.)

Overall: 7/10

Does anyone get the feeling this is going to be our last Old-Timey cartoon? They just turned nearly all the characters into skeletons - this may be the end of them.

Anyway, I personally loved it. I hated how all the voices were changed, though. Maybe it's just been a while since Mike did them, and he's rusty. I adored all the Parsnips a Plenty references.

are you kidding? Wiley E. Coyote fell off a clif at least fifteen times an episode. he also blew himself up and turned into firworks, but he always survived.

If we're to take the skeletalization as the end, then the cartoons should've been over already, since Parsnips-A-Plenty ended up with Sir Strong Bad in Hell, after all.

Yeah, that place is lame. It did turn me onto this place though.

The discussion at fark, every week, usually goes:

"H*R rules!"

"H*R sucks! I can't believe you actually think it's funny!"

"No, it rules, I can't believe you DON'T find it funny"

"Anyone who likes h*r is a (bad word)"

etc.

I have no idea what kind of person would spend every week watching homestar just to complain about it on fark.

If each of the old timey cartoons goes up a year as it has between "parsnips a plenty" and "that a ghost" then they will soon be at war...interesting.

As usual, I don't think that will happen because of the "isolationist" priorities of TBC (in a web sense, not a historical sense). WWI is too close to "real life." Yeah, there were references to actual history in the Ballad of the Sneak, but they were old enough or obscure enough to be sufficiently removed from "reality."

I think WW2 is old enough to do with controversy. The Homestar Runner versus Hitler would be great. I wonder if they'll do a 60's Hanna-Babera style cartoon as well?

That would be SUPER awesome. That or a Chuck Jones-style cartoon.
