So, in what I hope will be a series of posts that look back at the earlier days of Homestar and co., let us discuss "A Jorb Well Done". First off, the character designs are pretty close to what they are now. The only thing missing is shading, really. However, some voices are different, especially Strong Sad, who sounds like a tire being flattened. However, the biggest shocker to recent visitors would be Strong Bad's laugh, which is quite possibly the creepiest thing ever. In fact, that's what inspired me to make this post, as his laugh was so creepy that I couldn't effectively get it out of my system without subjecting other people to its horrors. So, go forth, and behold an earlier time.

Well, if my memory serves me right, A Jorb Well Done was the first toon to use the current desing for the characters. It's a great toon to watch when you're bored. Still great each time.

Good ol' jorb. CZ's accent at it's finest. As for SB's laugh, it's really creepy until you get used to it. Which is probably never.

I get to hear it like, every time I play CoD2. This dude in my clan sounds EXACTLY like Coach Z when he says "Jorb".

When I started liking Homestra my friend said this was a good one and suggested it.

It's a good one, and IMHO, it started the current generation of Homestar toons.

I really like A Jorb Well Done. It's one of my favorite toons. Probably because Coach Z's my favorite character. :P

I like how it uses almost all of the characters, too. Though SB's laugh freaks me out.

Obviously the Chaps realized that just wasn't a good laugh for him since we haven't heard it since. Great cartoon. I guess you could say this is when the Homestar Runner toons first starting coming into their groove.

I really like that toon. I think It may have been the first non-Email toon I saw on the site.

And yes, I agree that SB's laugh was quite creepy in it.

This cartoon really brought out Coach Z's character. This cartoon basically made him what he is today.

I actually think this old toon is better than some of their newer stuff. It's one of my favorites.

I think it could be argued that A Jorb Well Done was the first quality toon, short, E-mail, whatever on H*R.

"The Construction Worker's JOB is to smash things." and Strong Bad's laugh - classic

I agree--I do think this is the first H*R cartoon with any relative quality. However, I did enjoy the Yello-Dello. D:

Still a classic.

Though I admit, I rewatched it recently and I guess I ... FORGOT about SB's creepy laugh, because it creeped the beejezus outta me.

a jorb well done is great cartoon, and the 2nd 'toon I watched on h*rcom.
And this was the first time I had seen strong bad posed as more of a bad guy. I also saw how much strong sad was really the 'biggest waste of space'.

Yes. Still a great one. Although not by the current standards.

I still get a kick out of the movie scene. That's a great one.

I think this is one of the better storys on H*R. It's not as funny as some other stuff, but it's still fun to watch.

this toon is one of my favorites. sometimes as i walk the streets i will suddenly say to myself " i says ya done a great JOB, hamstray." also, the coach z talker at the end is great to use if you're talking on the phone to someone.

It is one of my favorites, if not the favorite. My favorite part is the Coach yelling out JEEEOOORREEAARRB! And Coach Z is my favorite character.

I said favorite in every sentence! Favorite.

This is by far the best halloween toon ever. Really the only funny part was Strong Sad though, but he says enough funny stuff to make me crack up. This is good.

I have been going back over the old Toons, and I gotta admit that "Jorb" was the toon that really got me into H*R.

But as the old addage goes

"I came for the "Jorb" but I stay for the "SBemails." *

------

* = my apologies to anyone who is offended by my paraphrasing of TGS.**
**= My apologies to anyone that actually is offended, but.. Go get a life Dork off. ;)
