I recently saw "Signs" with Mel Gibson. It wasn't at all what I expected, and the movie's central theme isn't even revealed until the very end (don't worry, I won't spoil it). I also like the double meaning of the title - very clever.

It is kind of scary, and the aliens are rather cliche at times, but it does an excellent job of guiding you through Gibson's struggle of faith.

Last night I watched Darkness Falls on On-Demand. It was pretty good, creepy at some points. It wasn't really that scary, but it was entertaining.

a quote from it:
person 1"hand over the plutonium"
person 2 " that plutonium is for religious purposes and i have a liscence"
person 1 "you actually have plutonium?"

i know, my spelling of actors and actreses names is bad.

Monty Python's movies are all hilarious. Meaning Of Life is not for minors, though. "OH  ! IT'S MISTER CREASODE!"

Aye, I have Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Life of Brian, and most of the Monty Python's Flying Circus.

I'm really looking forward to the remake of Fahrenheit 451 (No, not 9/11, though I liked that movie a lot). I just read the 50th anniversary version of it, and in the interview with Bradbury, they were talking about a remake of it.

Holy Grail sux0red!!! Totally lame.

Let's see here... I think I saw Planet of the Apes (1968). Much better than the crappy "remake."

I wanna see The Grudge. I know a friend who saw it and liked it.

I saw Garfield: The Movie on DVD. It was hilarious! There was this part where Jon serves Garfield his meal, and he swaps it with Jon's meal, and Jon takes a bite of it and spits into the sink and says "Liver!" (not necessarily in that order). Then Garfield says "Well, actually, it's liver flavored.".

To anyone who's seen it, would you recommend renting Monty Python's Life of Brian? I'm thinking of getting it the next time my family goes into town, but I know it's rated R, and I was just wondering how it garnered that rating.

Though it's a funny movie, it's not really for the family. I'm guessing that the brief clips of nudity that are in it brought the rating about. Other than that, though, it's fine. Maybe an age of 14+ would be a good viewing range.

I saw K-PAX on TV.I think it is good, especially how it leaves you to make up your own mind on the main theme ( I think that prot was an alien).

I rewatched The Sixth Sense a few days ago. Very good movie, although, personally, I've never found it all that "scary". It's very psychological and extremely effective suspense-wise but only moderately creepy, at best. I still love the jaw-dropper ending, however, and I do consider this to be M. Night Shamalan's (sp?) best film to date.

I haven't yet seen The Village, but of his other three films, I agree the Sixth Sense is the best.

I think that Shyamalan might be better off with a television show, a la The Twilight Zone. But I have to applaud him for trying to make an old-fashioned UFO movie.

Okay, this doesn't make sense. How does the fact that a child can see something that nobody else can also make it possible for a camera of said child to capture a photographic representation of that thing.

Now, I'm not sold on the non-existence of ghosts any more than I am of their existence, but as a photographer, I can tell you that 98% of "ghost pictures" are very easily explained. 90% of them are just the result of using a flash in a dark room and letting something (dust, your thumb, the camera strap) get between the subject and the lens.

I've found that a lot of self-proclaimed "paranormal investigators" spend a lot of their time "investigating" the results of their own amateurish camera-handling.

But what about those guys who built that ectoplasmic containment unit, put unlicensed nuclear generators on their backs, and fought that giant marshmallow monster?

Getting back ON topic-

Dameon: Omen 2 is the only movie I've seen in a while... One of the scariest movies I've ever seen... Ranks higher than The Exorcist, and believe me, that one's ranked pretty high as well...

Oh yeah, and A Bug's Life :) ! Gotta love the Pixar!

I've seen The Village, and, believe me, it's not all it was hyped up to be. The movie itself wasn't bad, but I think Shyamalan tried so hard to live up to his other twist endings, he kind of blew it on this one. Major letdown.
