At last, we finally have access to TBC's annual "trick or treat" style Halloween toon where the characters dress up in outrageous outfits. This year, the title is "Halloween Fairstival". Find out how The Brothers Strong attempted to scare the "hiccups" out of The Cheat by clicking a link below!

Obligatory wikilink: Halloween Fairstival

Off topic: I'll introduce myself later in the welcoming thread. I love this forum (which I check nearly every day), and finally got up the courage to actually post here, as I like to contribute on the wiki.

Actually, Can anyone Find the Homsar Easter Egg? I tried looking for it, but to no avail.

GigaDevan, please don't double-post. That's what the "edit" button is for.

And you know we have a Wiki, right?

Quite possibly the best selection of Costumes there's been this time around.

On a side note, I wonder what the Witches' "Brüe" was.

Oh yes, and the cartoon was pretty good. Not sure if it was as good as other halloweens, but still pretty pretty nice.

What I think:
1.I think Bubs costume may be a Hitchikers ref, but I'm not sure.
2. Coach Z's costume wasn't obsure enough. I recongized him immediatly. Also, I want to put in a fanfic, during a scene when they're revealing something important (who the murderer/thief/father is), have Coach Z yell:
:coachz: : I confess! I killed Tupac!
:sb: : What the crap are you talking about? Anyway, everyone knows he ain't dead. He just came out with a new album last month.
3. I want Strong Bad to crossdress again. Marzipan did.
4. I like numbers.

P.S. That beginning scene was weird. It reminds me of that one town in FF9 where it's always night.

You fanfic people are we-IRD.

Oh, and the fine folks over at BHZ have solved the Bubs mystery. He's dressed as one of "The Three Most Important People in the World" from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.

Here's a headshot (I'm still looking for a better picture -- anybody have the DVD and can take a screencap?):

Talk about obscure city. I actually watched Bill & Ted on one of my lame "premium" channels the other day, but I tuned in after the part where they visit the future and meet TTMIPitW.

After watching this, I feel like changing my name to Mashed Potato Jones. But I'm not gonna do that.

I personally thought TBC could have done better, but still, it was alright.

I could actually recognise a lot of these as I first saw them : Strong Bad, Strong Sad ,Marzipan and Coach Z.
I still have no Idea who The KOT or the Cheat were though.

The KoT is The Mayor of Halloweentown from The Nightmare Before Christmas. The Cheat is Sigmund from the '70s kids' show Sigmund and the Sea Monsters. The show was produced by Sid and Marty Krofft, the same team behind the infamous H.R. Pufnstuf.

Out of all the halloween cartoons, this was the one where I recognized the most characters. The only one I didn't really recognize was Homsar. My day is made. (Not that it took much, the fact that it's Friday made it pretty darn nice.)

I was very pleased with the toon. Especially The Cheat's pile of leaves costume. It's so adorable.

I liked it a lot.

:sb: :"Dear Oldie, Shut up. Your pal, Strong Bad."

I also liked when the KOT changed to the frowning Mayor. That was great.

I think the only characters I didn't recognize were Bubs (he LOOKED familiar, but I couldn't place it), The Cheat (I knew he must've been some sort of leafy monster thing, but I didn't realize the Sid & Marty Croft connection until afterward (and I've actally WATCHED that show too, which makes it sadder for me)), Coach Z (hadn't a clue), and Homsar (who I thought was doing a South Park thing but it turned out I was way off). I also kind of misplaced Homestar (thought it looked more M*A*S*H-like at first, as opposed to "from Caddyshack"), but at least I recognized it.

The Cheat was Sigmund the Sea Monster as mentioned above.

As for the toon, it was ok but I must say that I was fairly dissapointed.

I didn't like it. The King of Town's heart was funny, but where the heck was...hey, what happened to the Goblin smilie?

Lion-O is the leader of the ThunderCats, a group of cat-like heroes from the '80s animated teevee show of the same name.

Personally, I'm disappointed we didn't get to see The Cheat as the show's best character, Snarf:

I really hope you're using "best character" sarcastically here, IJ.

The best (not most obscure) reference was Homsar as Kumar the inept safecracker from "Bottle Rocket."
If you haven't seen the movie, or thought it was a reference to some reefer-smoking White Castle movie, you need to check it out. Definitely my favorite of the Wes Anderson films.

This Halloween toon seemed different. SB seemed to be more ready with come backs. It was good, but it seems different. I liked the KoT's costum. I knew that one instantly. And when he turned sad.
"That seems... promissing"

Since I guessed that Marzipan would dress as Sarah from Labyrinth and Strong Sad dressed as David Bowie who played the Goblin King in that movie, I almost guessed right! I deserve something.

Yeah, that was okay. I've gotten used to not recognizing anybody's costumes, and this year was no exception. Loved Coach as Tupac. Reminds me of that other toon, though: "Coach, are you a poser?" Also loved the stand-up.

I didn't like it that much. TBC can do better. At least I hope so.

That reminds me...the first time I saw 3 Times Halloween Funjob, I thought Homestar was Richard Simmons. -shudders-
