i think i heard that marshie's voice is done by saying something backwards, and then reversing it to make it sound really creepy. i did that, saying "get out of my room" and rigging it so it would play when my door was opened. it gave my sister nightmares.

I found this email refreshing. I'd almost given up on Homestar and then they did an email like this. It was the first time in a long time I watched an email twice in a row. I laughed until I puked my pants.

No, that wouldn't work... it's come out all garbled, and it's REALLY HARD to say things in such a way that when you reverse them, they sound marignally alright. There's no way Marshie's voice could be done like that. But they could've speeded it up a little...

It woudn't be too hard. I've doen it a couple times. You just say the line, reverse it, then mimic the reverse line, and reverse that.

I'm still skeptical... Unless TBC are reeeally good at it, it seems really hard to me to make it sound that natural.

Rich, creamy... pepperoni! Brilliant. I didn't see it coming! That easter egg was most likely the most unsettling in Homestar Runner history.

The Marshie Easter Egg was probably done with a weird digital effect. I saw on the DVD that they recorded using Adobe Audition, which has a bunch of preset flangers. It's really easy to create an effect like that.

I agree. It's far too coherent to be a backwards thing. They did this on Twin Peaks and you needed subtitles to understand the speech.

It's probably just Marshie's normal voice with a weird effect put on it. This is probably the dumbest comparison ever but if anyone's played the DS game Electroplankton, for the one plankton that lets you record your voice and then warp it, one of the effects sounds almost exactly like how Marshie sounds in the easter egg, with that garbly underwater-sort-of effect.

Not really overly laugh out loud grrrreat, but somewhat entertaining, particularly the song, and Marshie's 'you can't destroy me!' easter egg appearance. Plus, "SBLOUNSKCHED!" is a pretty hilarious sounding term, don't you think? B+
