Okay, be honest, who got it, who didn't... Basically, on a scale from 1 to punk'd, where did you fall?

I put a lot of time into making it look just right, so I wonder whether anyone liked the joke at all. I'd especially like to hear from someone who actually tried editing using the 'Tavi skin. I didn't think it was that difficult to use.

By the way, please try to keep this thread from being a rehash of a previous one.

I thought it was real until the very end, and hated it with a passion :sm:
I was trying to get the hang of using it when it reverted back to its old format. that was sure a relief

Well, at first, I'm like "Woah, did I boomkark old.hrwiki.org?" but then I read the notice, and got it immediately. It was the funniest April Fool's joke this year, especially since I was on back in the 'Tavi days.

I figured it was a joke, even though I wasn't around in the 'tavi days.

First time I saw it:
"Whaaaaaaaaaaaat the crap"

After I saw people trying to explain it, unconvincingly
"Oh, April Fools!"

The prank was realistic, since I had no idea what WikiWikiTavi was till now.

I thought what was even *more* funny was watching a lot of people freak out over it. THAT was what made this April Fools joke more satisfying.

Don't you dare compare our noble Wiki to those chicken-abusers!

Anyway...

Not only did I get the joke, but I made it my mission to make sure everyone else knew it was a joke, too.

You know, because it was getting REALLY irritating on both ends- I was irritated by the people flipping out because they thought it was real, and I was also irritated by the Wiki staff who were so strongly insisting that it was real.

So, so very true. Thanks COLA for all the laughs.

I loved this little prank. I remember the old Tavi. What fun.

I ruined the joke for about an hour, but then I deleted all instances of my clarification before the evening rush. Sorry, guys.

I knew it was fake the entire time, and I loved every moment of it.

I did make a small edit to the "Store" section, actually, as well as to my userpage. It was simple, and it worked fine.

Do you happen to be a vegetarian? Unless your meat is explicitly marked "Free Range," the conditions are as bad as, if not worse than KFC. Even if you are a vegetarian and not a vegan, the same chickens are being beaten up for their eggs. And the poor cows!

I only eat meat when I'm forced to. When I go out to eat in public, I try to order vegetarian food. But that's a tale for another... thread.

Considering the fact that most of the internet considers it a national holiday on April Fools, I got the joke at once and found it quite funny.

Not to mention watching COLA thinking it was the end of the world :p

And a few other forum members.

None of my answers are on there... I knew it was a joke, and I just kept quiet. (Well actually, I was gonna post something, but I couldn't find a way to word it... but we'll just say I kept my knowing a secret on purpose. Deal? Deal.)

I didn't find it very funny, but it was a good prank.

That's pretty much my stance too. I got the joke... I just didn't think it was that funny. Maybe I haven't been here long enough.

I loved it, and didn't fall for it for a second. I posted somewhere on the Main Page Talk how I was so happy we had reverted to the WTT.

I knew it was a joke, I just didn't find it funny. There wasn't any real, like, humor in it. No real tongue-in-cheek joke, nothing overtly silly, nothing, man! Yes, nostalgic, but it wasn't really funny. And where some people found it hilarious how the forums were freaking, I just thought it was sad and pathetic.

I don't like it, since every single person who knew about it told us that it WASN'T an Aprilween joke. Thanks for lying. :sb:

So, um, other, I guess. However, if we're talking about how I felt at the time, then the second-to-last one.

Man, this was hilarious and eye opening. Hilarious because of the fools freaking out. Eye opening because I realize that some people here just can't take a joke.

Oh, and nostalgic. I was around when the old wiki was around. I'm pretty sure I originally made the pages for Poppy the Tire and Stoppy the sign...

It was hilarious... I figured it was a joke, and went to the talk page to see what people were saying... the admin's explanations made it a little more believeable, I thought. That was some nice acting, guys....

Voted the first option, although I did semi-try to make sure everyone knew it was a joke. Because I was really surprised that some people were actually threatening to leave and I wanted them to calm down. Seriously, that was hilariously stupid. The admins insisting it was real was the best part, but it's too bad people got so riled up.

edit: and I'm getting really ticked off at people accusing me, and everyone who was saying it was a joke, of "ruining it" for the others. This quote from Talk:Main Page is a perfect example:
Quote:
I heard countless people (you know who you are) trying to prove to me that it was a prank. I cannot believe that you thought there would be any benefit in ruining the prank for everyone. Why? Why did you think it was so imperative to make sure people knew and the sysop's trick was ruined? Because even if I knew, at least I would keep a secret better.

But there was a major benefit: to stop those who thought it was real from freaking out, filling up our sysops' inboxes with hatemail, and/or leaving.

I think the admins deserve an Oscar for theyr acting. It was far better than any that I've seen.
