You guys have surprisingly low standards. I can tell by how much you like the king of town and Pom Pom's bow staff skills that you apparently think are in for "teh win." Sight gags or identifying with jokes simply because they are up your alley because you are an interior decorator are not as cool in my opinion as inventiveness and witty social commentary. Maybe he didn't baste the trading card comments with enough of that. The email seemed also kind of short and unsatisfying. They are basically using two things that they see as ingredients in a surefire recipe which is Strong Bad being creative by anticipating the funny stereotypes in what the reader is asking, road trip is a bad example, being creative with a twist of making fun of stuff in society like sitcom theme songs and Homestar coming in to refresh the joke by repeating it in some way. This one didn't have sharp enough gags, or..an Aristotelian arc or something. It didn't pan out, seemed clipped, made too little sense, and ended too abruptly.
Uhh... get a clue, dude. When people can identify with jokes, it makes them funnier. If you can't identify with a joke, then chances are a lot higher you won't "get it." This is why what most people call "inside jokes" tend to be funnier than the more generic kind.
Remember, everyone's sense of humor is different. Don't tell us we have "low standards" just because we don't have the same sense of humor as you do. That's just arrogant tunnel vision and makes you sound very immature.
Now, as for my opinion of this email? The best one in a while. I'd give it 9/10. Which is good considering the last one, Road Trip, was absolutely horrendous. I daresay that one was
worse than Tape-Leg.
My favorite moments from this would have to be (in order of appeal):
* Cheatball. ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE.
* Homestar's line "Well that's just sad." Cracks me up every time. It's actually not so much the line itself as the way he said it. Comic gold.
* The STING of Town. I usually don't go for gross-out things, but that picture was pretty funny.
