Hello everybody!
Craig Z here. I've spent the last year directing a film, which Missy Palmer produced and the Chapses executive produced. I'm excited to say it's been accepted into Sundance. We are very flattered and pumped to be a part of it!

The film’s called “Great World of Sound”. It’s a live action comedy/drama about Song Sharking- a scam that happens in the music industry. In it a man answers an ad to train as a record producer, where he's excited by the prospect of signing undiscovered artists only to discover his new job isn't all it's cracked up to be.

We also made a little website (sorta inspired by thoraxcorp) to promote the movie... maybe you'll get a kick out of it. Just thought I'd tell you guys!

The website:
http://www.greatworldofsound.com/

The MySpace site:
http://www.myspace.com/greatworldofsound

Within the next day or so, there will be some Youtube action going on too... Hope you enjoy the sites, and I hope you get a chance to check out the film!

Thanks for your time! You guys rock!
-Craig

You are not related to Timbox, are you? And why does the website have nothing to do with a movie? (I'm not sure how this has anything to do with Homestarrunner.com though, sense there is no mention of those people in it anywhere, unless I just couldn't see it.)

Perhaps you don't know who Craig Z, Missy Palmer, and the Chapses are? You know we have a wiki, right? (Has this phrase gotten old yet since I've been gone?)

And as for the site not having anything to do with a movie, check out this page:

http://www.greatworldofsound.com/film.html

The movie looks great, and a very original idea with the whole "part reality-show" angle. I'ma try and catch it when it comes to Salt Lake at the end of January. Cheers!

It is JoeyDay! I am honored to quote!

And I know who they are. It's sorta hard to not after watching the toons. I just didn't see their names anywhere. But the link shows me, so there are no doubts for me now. (And that phrase is still in tact, I assure.)

Hehe, when I saw "craig zobel" as a username, I thought "how long until that pretentious n00b gets banned? Where does he get off taking that guy's name?" But, um, OK, it is you then. Thanks for letting us know about this project, man! I hope it goes over well at Sundance.

Seriously COLA, you know better

Toastpaint.

I'd like to see this thing. It's a pity that it isn't coming to Syracuse.

Hey, I have a quick question. The pages provided aren't loading up for me. Is anyone else having this problem?

It's not that it's taking forever to load, it's saying that the server cannot be found.

That's a very Thorax-looking website you've got there.

Looking through the movie credits, I have to wonder if the David listed as "Music" is related to ESPN's Trey Wingo (I worked with Trey's cousin Matt when I was in Alabama).

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to see this movie (probably EVER) unless it gets picked up by someone at Sundance. About the closest thing you get to independent film in the hills of eastern KY are poorly framed home movies.

Best of luck with Sundance. Joey, you'll have to take a camcorder and bootleg it for us.*

*Note, neither StrongRad, nor any of the other moderators (except Ramrod, but he's a dead man) or Admins of the Homestar Runner Wiki Forum encourage or condone the bootlegging of any film, book, television show, song, or any other medium.

IMBD shows Daniela Taplin Lundberg as executive producer, and does not mention Matt or Mike. Where is it noted that they are involved?

Answered my own question - they are listed in the PDF of full production credits on the film's site (at http://www.greatworldofsound.com/GWS-MASTERCREDITS.pdf ). I've contributed their names to IMDB.

How so, COLA?

It's got all of the "cheesy" attributes that make thoraxcorp.com the gem it is. I'd love to work there some day, provided they allow me to substitute education for experience. :p

My friend seems to be able to get his hands on all the sundance goodness all the time. I'm not sure how he does it, considering he never goes. I'll most likely get a chance to borrow it from him. (I'll send you ten bucks if you dont sue me. :) )

Thanks for letting us know about this Mr. Zobel, and I hope all goes well at Sundance.

Hopefully people will like it and a distributor will pick it up, then everybody'll be able to see it! That's the dream anyway. Until then we will also be playing at SXSW in Austin, and some other TBD film fests... If ya'll come out, say hi!

Sorry the site was slow- It's up on my server instead of the h*r one and they were having problems today.

Dude, CRAIG ZOBEL just posted on the forum, and you're going nuts because the forum's creator is here???
:D

EDIT: Okay, that Great World of Sound site is hilarious. I hope that means this thing will be too.

Also, the "real" website taught me some stuff about Missy I never knew. I wonder what promos she directed? For Nick and CN and stuff. XD

There's some info on Missy Palmer at the Internet Movie Database (as well as the Brothers Chaps).
