Does it depend on the a drought in Homestar updates, do the higher-ups just get bored? I'd like some valid reason for why there's a Daily Featured Article THIS WEEK when last week there wasn't. (For the record, I feel Weekly is better than Daily, and wish Daily Featured Articles would cease.)

They're daily featured articles based on a theme. In this case, old games. I can't find the discussion so I can't say why, but I know there was a discussion about it.

The discussion is located at HRWiki:FAS. As Shwoo said, the daily FAs are based on a theme. This week, it's old games. We've done daily FAs twice before: once for QOTW, Fanstuff, Sketchbook, Random Toon, etc.; once for Toons Menu, Games Menu, Downloads, Store, Email (not the SB type), etc.

Daily articles don't happen often. These are the types of articles that we think are cool but aren't really important enough to stay on the Main Page for a week at a time.

Weekly FAs will be back next Monday at midnight GMT.
