I think they live in a world where their age doesn't really apply nor matter. Since well... they are all cartoons and won't age anyway.

But the best way to find out is just to ask. Ask strongbad and see if he ever answers.

Kyaan! ^o^ I always wonder that too.... sometimes is adultish, sometimes teenish. He drinks beer wich is adultish, but when says "remember me? I'm Homestar, from school" he made it sound like "I saw you in class yesterday, Stupe'." Ne... I already forgot which toon or email that was from -_-*

The Cheat probably isn't more than 20 (maybe in cheat years though) because then he wouldn't need the fake ID.

Homestar is 21.
Strong Bad is 25.
Strong Sad is whiny emo kid, so he's about 15.
Marzipan is 20.
The Cheat is almost 23. One of the emails said The Cheat since 1983.
Bubs is in his 40's, as is Coach Z.
Pom Pom is...um...26.
The KOT is in his 60's, he said so in space program.
Poopsmith is in his 50's.
Strong Mad is 29 or 30.
And Homsar is 40, but he has down syndrome/word salads, so that's why he sounds like that.

*shrugs* I prefer to be generic and say 'late teens' or 'early 20s' for these guys, because isn't that in implication? They're all old enough to know better and young enough not to care.

KoT, Poopsmith, Bubs and Coach Z are 'adults', and everyone else are the 'kids', if you will. Whether or not Homestar is 19 or 21 doesn't really MATTER, does it?

There's just no need to label these characters with ages since it wouldn't affect how they acted, nor would it give you any insight into their characters. It's rather silly, no? Not that I dislike thinking about the bizarre -- heavens, no. It's just ... why ARGUE over it? Unless TBC give the word, the characters are officially ageless.

the main characters such as homestar and strong bad are probably around the same age as TBC because it's difficult but not impossible to write someone who's younger than you or WAY older. But, i'm guessing they probably are around the same age as TBC.

Yeah, I like the idea of that they're pretty much ageless..They're toons..This gives them the excuse to do anything. One toon Strongbad could be working in an office..The next, he could be playing in a cardboard spaceship with The Cheat.

It all depends on if cold ones are alchoholic or not. I doubt they are, so I think most of them are late teenagers, Coach Z is in his 40's, Bubs in his 50's because of his financial and possibly marital problems, and the KOT is somewhere in his 60's, and The Cheat is at least 5 years younger than Strong Bad.

I think that Homsar is around Homestar and Strong Bad's age, he just has a mental condition. I doubt it's senility.

Well, Homestar, Marzipan, Strong Bad and Strong Mad are all way past high school, as we learned in the email... 'High School. But Strong Bad and Homestar (and possibly The Cheat) still seem to go to some kind of school (There is a quote from the email 'Do Over'; "It's me, Homestar Runner, from school!", and he is addressing Strong Bad. So I'm guessing that Strong Bad and Homestar are probably in college.

The KOT is in his 60's according to 'Space Program'.

Bubs was born in 19?6, according to Bub's headstone (after they kill off Bubs because one of TBC breaks Bubs' voice tube) in the 'Sample of Style' thing on one of the 'strongbad_email.exe' DVDs, so we can assume that he's definately younger than 101 years old!

Or there is a chance that none of the characters are human, and have different ways of aging to us!

But technically they're all 10 years old, because they are all brainchildren of TBC... 10 years ago!

Personally I think a lot of these proposed ages for the characters are irrelevant, and not for the reason you'd think. ("It's an internet cartoon!") Here and there I've had my doubts that the toon actually takes place in present day. Other than the fact that the characters announce the current year every so often (It's the KoT in the 2003 plus 3!) they seem to be stuck in the 80's and early 90's (makes sense, of course, considering that's when TBC grew up). So if in fact the toons take place in an earlier, more simpler time before IPods and cell phones, or if time itself seems to be mixed up and heavily skewed, aging has no meaning.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

I think everybody is overestimating Coach Z's age by decades.

To me, I see him in his early to mid thirties. He probably did most of his major coaching in his early twenties but is washed up now. And that age is when most people start referring to themselves (jokingly) as "old".

I think the cheat has to start over every time he gets blown up, so he's like 2

I don't know about all the characters, but I think Strong Bad is around 22. Even if he implies that he is older than 24 in one scene. He also implied that Strong Sad was cool in that scene.
