I don't really notice a pattern of up and down, but one of my brothers friends who has been a long time Homestar fan thinks that the toons and SBemails are just getting more random. I think they're awesome. The 12th TGS was just awesome, 4 Branches was awesome. The Chair and Looking Old were awesome.
And as Sci-Fi Greg said, the first few were just completely boring.
But Dragon will always be the best SBemail ever. Japanese Cartoon following in it's footsteps (Kinda ironic [I think that's the right word], because Japanese Cartoon came out the week before Dragon).
Of course they've been getting more random. The site's been around for what, almost a decade now (I know some of the things they've made are older)? The emails are going to get weirder because it's not enough for him to simply answer the emails like he used to. Toons are going to get weirder because, really, the site hardly had a "premise" to begin with, so they don't have much by way of character development to go on.
None of these are bad things, mind you, just idle observations about 'em.
The first few were only boring in retrospect. Anyone who watched the dang things in chronological order (even if you're a newer fan, you just started at the old) will probably tell you that the first time you go through they're all great. Considering at the time the SBEmail wasn't the main staple of the site and was just a side-feature, the old ones are fine, too.
Watch the Holiday Pageant one or Mother's Day, or the Luau. In retrospect, none of the old stuff is very good. At the time, though, I thought "A Jorb Well Done" was great. Now I never watch it when I'm perusin' through the site on a dull day.
