Man, this one was... kinda creepy. I think it was mainly the tattered mason-jar Strong Bad corpse. Still, I laughed like a maniac at the Easter egg.

Abso-freaking-lutely. That easter egg was PHENOMENAL...

Or something like that.

"The Zombies have broken through our defenses!"

Homestar reading from the Yello Pages was great, too. "Acupuncture, and Pizza."

Wow, the Strong Bad corpse breaking out of the jar just kinda gave me the jibblies. The easter egg was freakin awesome though. Strong Sad...holy crap. XD Pure genius...

And of course another mention of DNA evidence. ^_^

Oh boy...

Well, I'm going to predict, in the following 4 pages of responses, here, an onslaught of forum members who were either offended or otherwise upset at the presumably morbid subject matter of this week's sbmail.

That's right, I'm calling it, now. ;)

...but serioulsy, let me also say in this emails defense, somewhat that I didn't think it was very gross or offensive at all. I didn't have any problem with it.

Rather I loved it, laughed hilarious at the total inappropriateness of Coach Z taping over Strong Bad's eulogy, the subsequent dance, Homestar reading from the phone book and breaking into tears, and of course... the undisputed awesomeness of Strong Bad's stuffed corpse suplexing a cougar.

Based on this and "Time Capsule", do you ever get the idea that Strong Bad has a love/hate relationship with himself? :P I mean, he gives off the feeling that he's too awesome to ever leave this world without leaving his indelible awesomenicity for future generations to cherish and worship... yet his own imagination clearly has all attempts either failing miserably or somehow proving what he REALLY thinks about himself.

Just something to think about. :P

I give it 4 out of 5. Brave subject matter, yes. But great, nonetheless.

That was a great one. Homestar in a suit was great.

I wonder how long the e-mails will keep mentioning DNA evidence. That's four in a row now. Maybe something more will develop from it...

Yoikes, that was both several types of awesome and creepiness. Which... now that I think of it, sort of matches the description of Sr. Cardgage o_0

Probalos aside, I kinda liked this one, and I certainly loved the DNA evidence shpiel once again :p Certainly a very unique email yet again. Methinks TBC are on an 'odd streak' of sorts.

Oh yeah, final thought. Coach Z's little sad dance at the end was strangely adorable, don't ask me how.

Ah, that ol' gallows humor. I kinda like the way Strong Bad wants to go: preserved in fluids, with a death-metal funeral dirge. Too bad his own imagination seems to sabotage itself, with Coach Z taping over his eulogy, Homestar reading from "The Book of Phone", and SB having to come back from the dead to stop his little bro's attempt at interpretive dance.

I also see Strong Bad has his plans for a zombie apocalypse: sign up with the zombies!

DNA Evidence Theory:

As SBemail 173 is (almost) upon us, The Paper will soon be killed... or destroyed... or something. Subsequently, the "DNA Evidence" will be recovered. It will turn out to be a piece of The Paper. They will use it to clone The Paper, thus bringing it back (but not Before Strong Bad tries an inkjet for a couple of weeks).

COMMANDO. GRON. SAD. S'all I gotta say.

I can't decide if Coach Z at the funeral looks sad because of Strong Bad's death or the fact that he taped over the eulogy. And that either way, he can't stop dancing. To his own ineptitude.

DAY-UM, what an Easter egg!

Coach Z taping over SB's eulogy thing was a TOTAL sit-com moment. Like, a non-suck, slightly edgy sit-com.

Nice callback to that lady from the bottom 10 email.

Yeah, was pretty good. I didn't laugh much this time, but maybe I wasn't in a good mood. Homestar's reading from the Book of the Phone was funny. "Abe Lincoln's Pizza Cabin?" XDD

Welcome to the club, MC. If this really is your first time posting messages, be sure that the next ones you put up are decent and inoffensive - even the eyes can be deceiving.

Have you noticed Strong Bad said another word with "oi" again? Taxidoimied! We GOT to start an article that shows the list of words said in a New Yorkish accent. You know, like "obsoive," "loin," "woik," etc. There are some others, like "insoirance" (DVD version of English Paper).

People actually found this creepy? As they say over on weebs-stuff.com, I assume you're also scared of ceilings and knees. Anyway, this was easily the best sbemail I've seen in ages. They really let loose with Strong Sad...I'm just sorry we didn't get to see his interpretive dance.

I'm also getting 404'd on everything but the flash file at the moment.

Mike

That was both creepy and funny. I liked how Strong Bad decides to not die in order to save the world from Strong Sad doing an intrepretive dance at his funeral.

Future Strong Sad kind of reminded me of Gunhaver. Don't know why. And I'm going to start telling people to get the leotard all the time now.

Another awesome e-mail from TBC. Even in death, Strong Bad is still cooler than his younger brother.

I dunno.

The black eyes kinda creeped me out for some reason, and it wasn't really funny except for the tape and phone book.

YES. The Book of Phone, and Coach Z's sad hip-hop dance. Also: the easter egg at the end? SEVEN TYPES OF WIN.

Edit: Oh, anyone else think they're taking the DNA evidence too far?

That was epic!

I've watched it 3 times, and I'm still blown away at the awesomeness.

Book of phone was "meh", but that easter egg at the end blew me away. :-D

As usual, very funny stuff. The Easter Egg at the end with :pom: & was cool, love the beard. The rest was kinda creepy, but still funny. What cracked me up the most was :coachz: recording over the top, and :bubs: expression after that. Priceless.
And again the reference to DNA evidence. Intriguing...

Yea, I could buy this. Some folks are tiring of the "DNA evidence" motif, I've noticed, but I like it. I haven't seen them foreshadow so much for ANYTHING else -- except The Paper's Demise. I think you're right, it does have to do with TP.

The only problem: it's STRONG BAD what messed with the evidence. Why would SB kill the paper or cover up his murder/maiming? Even so, I think the SBEmail173/DNA evidence connection seems attractive, but I can't (yet) see how it will be made. Anyone else have ideas?
