Unless they have a collapse next year, your only hope is to catch the wildcard. But that's usually reserved for either the Red Sox or the Yanks.
Yeah, but Seattle had the Wild Card but they hit that 8 game skid in late August and couldn't recover. And they can beat Anaheim. You saw it this year, the M's were within a game, 1 game, of the division before the wheels came off.

Yeah, what Froggy said. You're spamming, and unless you would like to meet the back side of my ban hand, I'd knock it off.

Oh, and did anyone catch the Sox game last night? It was a thing of beauty.

And the Yanks got bugged down by the Indians.

When I first saw that, I though it was snowing out...and then they focussed in on the bugs climbing up on Joba.

Game 3's at 7:30 tonight. And I'll wear my Rockies T-shirt from Goodwill AGAIN. Must be a lucky shirt. ;)

Yeah, it's more that I hate the D-Backs more.
Oh, and please tell Todd Helton to shave that ridiculous goat. He's had it all season, I know, but now that there is a baseball thread, get to it.

Well, the Tigers had a tough collapse in August again this year. They tried pretty hard to catch the Yankees, but they're pretty tough to catch in September. I hate the Yankees.

Well, Trevor Hoffman is more to blame for that. It was the wrong night for him to have an off game. I watched that game, and I think I was one of the only people around here rooting for the Padres.

So, normally I'd root for the Indians next, but they're pretty much the reason the Tigers aren't in it this year. I loved how the Phillies made the Mets totally colapse, and I like their team, but they're out of it already. And the Cubs... well, I don't wanna talk about the Cubs. Yeah, I think I'm going to root for the Indians this October.

You must bring the goat into the stadium not for publicity, but for the love of goats.

Seriously that's what it says o the Curse of the billy goat Wikipedia page.

Also, there's a Steve Bartman Wiki page. Why?

Since he had the dumb idea to catch that ball in '03.

So If the Yanks lose this game, Torre might be out of a job, according to Steinbrenner. He's sounding like the Steinbrenner of the 70's and 80's. All they need now is Billy Martin to manage the team.

I've never hoped the Indians would win so bad.

GO INDIANS!!!

If the Sox hold of the Angels and the Indians win, this will be the first time in MLB history that all the Divisional Series ended in sweeps.

That would be quite impressive. Just goes to show you how unpredictable the playoffs can be sometimes.

I wish we had this thread earlier so I could've posted my predictions for this year. Well, I would've gotten the Phillies/Rockies series wrong, but I'm usually pretty accurate (as long as the Tigers aren't in it, 'cause then I'm way to biased).

Sox crushed the Angels 9-1. Awesome, now we're going to the ALCS.

The NL is weird this year...seriously, the Rockies?

Yeah, I don't even think the NL is very strong this year. Arizona had the best record in the NL with a grand total of 90 wins, and the NL got totally pwned in interleague play back in June. Of course, some of the years I think this, the NL ends up winning/sweeping the World Series, so you never really know.

I was thinking the same. Just think, most of the NL teams that were in this year playoffs were lackluster last year.

NOBODY expects the Rockes! We're like the Spanish Inquisition of baseball.

[s]If[/s]When they make it to the World Series, anyone wanna make a bet?

Um, the only bad thing running for the Rockies is that they don't play until Thursday. That's a momentum killer, and that's just what the D-Backs need. Though, 18 out of 19 is extremely impressive, so I wouldn't count the Rox out.

Yeah, but against the Red Sox, Indians, or Yankees?

The AL seems a heckuva lot more powerful.

They were talking about if/when the Rox make the WS. I'm pretty sure they'll make the WS. But they'll lose to the Sox.

As much as I hate Joe Torre, I think Steinbrenner would be an idiot to fire him.

Seriously, "Joe Torre fired" doesn't seem right at all.

But the other half of me is saying, "Please fire him George...I don't want to hear this all over again next year."
