Who cares, in the game he's a bald guy with a hat on.

also I got that a day after I posted that.

Also I think that songlist is either early build/fake. Also word on the street is that Slipknot would not ever be up that high.

These new idiots replaced the angel of death Grim Ripper with a robot.

Quote:
...Neversoft has gone pretty crazy with the new and unlockable characters. Past games had dudes like the "grim ripper" tearing it up onstage, and during our demo of the new game, we saw a ludicrously candy-colored Japanese schoolgirl with purple hair named Midori, as well as a tin-can robot axe man who was tearing it up with a guitar that looked like a giant raygun...

They must have been payed off, calling this the "Best Setlist Ever".

This has got to be the best setlist for a Guitar Hero game ever.

The only possible way it could be better is if "Because, It's Midnite" could be downloadable on Wii somehow. And also a Franz Ferdinand/Arctic Monkeys song.

I approve / agree.

Anyway, after paying attention to GHII really hard, the whole thing seems a bit off timed. Not much, but just enough to go 'Wait, how did I miss that part?' Oh well. I, personally, will be looking forward to drumming on Rock Band. but I'll probably end up with both games.

The reason most people think it's a crappy setlist is because Activision could have put SEVERAL much better songs in it. Crazy Train, Moving Very Slowly, AC/DC, Stairway, most Beatles songs, etc.

Also Franz Ferdinand was in the first game but the cover is pretty bad and I don't really like Take Me Out to begin with anyways.

I only enjoy this setlist so much because so far there's like 15 songs I recognize/enjoy, as opposed to previous games, when there's been maybe three.

Edit: I would buy this game (and a Wii) the day it came out if somehow Jack's Mannequin got in there.

I am more excited for this game than someone without any of the systems should be.

You don't own a Wii? Jeebus, I would have thought you'd have one.

I'm pretty excited because I'll finally get to play it too.

There were no games for it that I actually wanted at Christmas 2006 or during my birthday in May.

Heck, there's still not any. But there will be in two weeks.

Dude, do you know how hard it is to get Zeppelin and Beatles songs for stuff? I heard Jack Black got in a huge thing with Zeppelin trying to get Immigrant Song in School of Rock.(he did succeed, though) And Paul McCartney is always iffy about licensing.

Disappointing news is coming our way from the Fanboys (comic) forum.

Fanboys forums guy wrote:
Gamespot Interview

I'll trim it down to important bits

Gamespot interview wrote:
GS: How is the online play and downloadable content picture shaping up on the Wii?

CH: Our hope is on the Wii that we can be the first non-Nintendo title to have downloadable content, so we're working closely with Nintendo to make that happen. Given the success of the downloadable song packs on the Xbox 360, we can make it work on the Wii and every platform. Obviously, Nintendo's first-party titles will be the first out there with DLC and online play, but we're hoping to be the first third-party title with those features.

GS: So it won't launch with online play?

CH: Unfortunately it won't. But we're working with Nintendo to make it happen down the road. Things are just coming together a little bit too slow for launch.

GS: How often can we expect to see new GH games in the future? One main game and one Encore pack every year?

CH: We're planning to do one expansion pack and one reiteration each year. If there are special opportunities that come along, we might look at doing that. That could be anything. We could do different territorial things, maybe Japan, European. But at minimum, that's what we'd like to do, plus the downloadable content.

GS: RedOctane has filed trademarks for Keyboard Hero, Drum Hero, and Band Hero. You also designed the Guitar Hero II Xbox 360 controller with an effects pedal jack that has gone unused so far. Considering Harmonix is already introducing the drum and band concepts with Rock Band, when are we going to start seeing RedOctane flesh out its plans?

CH: We look at a lot of interesting options for where we'll take it. One of the early trademarks we did was for Drum Hero. Our approach was to take it and make a drum game that could stand on its own. It should be fun for someone to play just sitting in a room by themselves with a drum kit, playing a game called Drum Hero. And we've put some time and effort into creating that. Now it may connect eventually to a Guitar Hero, but at minimum, we wanted people to feel that they could just buy that, and if they never played with anybody else, they could have fun playing Drum Hero.

GS: When are we going to get a little Led Zeppelin in there?

CH: Well now that they're getting back and playing, maybe. There have been several groups we've always tried to license that have been tough: AC/DC, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, and Metallica. We got Metallica finally, but it took a long time.

GS: You got Van Halen...

CH: Yes, but we wanted a lot of Van Halen. What happens is a lot of the groups are--how should I say this--more motivated to do something to get their music out when they're ready to do something like a new album or a new tour. So when we heard that Van Halen was going to go back on tour, we thought this was our chance because they'll see this as an opportunity to get their music out to people, especially younger people. Unfortunately, Eddie went back into rehab so the tour never took place, but maybe if it does, that's an opportunity for us to approach Van Halen again.

Zep is a very difficult band to license. If you look at all of their music that's ever been done, very few people have ever been able to license a Led Zeppelin song for anything. But if their sort of reunion concert they're doing in London goes well, then maybe they'll get back together and do things. Usually when artists get back and on a roll of doing commercial things, getting out there and doing tours--they're more open to licensing opportunities. Hopefully if that happens, we'll be able to get Led Zeppelin. It's not because we haven't tried.

I really shouldn't have bolded this, but the quote was huge, I trimmed it down and it's a huge bold.

So, no Wii Online, no Zep and now Drum Hero

It's not so much Paul McCartney as it is that Michael Jackson owns the rights to a lot of Beatles' songs.

Oh yeah, wasn't there some issue with Jackson and McCartney on Jackson licensing some Beatles song for an Apple commercial? Yeah.

I think the only important one not owned by Jackson is Hey Jude, and that's because John Lennon's son owns it.

AC/DC licenses its songs all the time...

Also I knew they were gonna make more Encore songs.

I'm hoping for Thunderstruck in Rocks the 90's...

Hey guys, youtube "Knights of Cydonia" when you get a chance.
Apparently it's in this game. And the video is ballin'.

I kinda wish they would have put a better Muse song in there, but eh, whatever. I like this song too. More ideal for me would have been Hysteria or Stockholm Syndrome.

So basically I'm tired of waiting for this game.

^They put KoC in because they said it was in the top five songs everybody wnated. Although I think Crazy Train is more popular than that with the fans...

I know my musical tastes aren't held in the highest regard on this section of the internet, but I'm really looking forward to "Monsters" by Matchbook Romance being in this thing.

I downloaded it during one of my punk rock binges a year or so ago and quickly established that it was the only good MR song (also I'm a sucker for... rhythmic clapping, I guess).

Anyway, I listened to it a few minutes ago and was blown away by how ballin' the guitar is. Perfect for this game.

So if you get a chance, go look it up.

It's not too bad.

The guitar parts sound like they could be fun for GH.

I don't see me listening to this song a lot, but it'll probably go on my iPod.
Well, it will if/when I replace the one that I decided to put in the washing machine.
