I was reading this and found an interesting fact. Not only are the players from the 2004 Sox good at comebacks, but two of the new guys are too. Mike Lowell and Josh Beckett were on the 2003 Marlins squad. That team faced a similar situation. They were down 3-1 to the Cubs and came back.

The first (and only) baseball game I went to was a rained-out Indians game, so, uhh...wooh?

At least you did try to go to a Tribe-Mariners game back in April. It would have been snowed out.

I'm thinking the Sox will win tomorrow night. Beckett's just too darn good, and the Sox rocked Sabathia in Game 1.

If we can force the series back to Fenway, we'll have a better chance.

The AL does have the home-field advantage since they won the All-Star Game, but the Rox won 2 games at Fenway this season.

I'm not talking about the World Series, I'm focused on the ALCS right now. I think we'll have a better chance of taking games 6 and 7 from Cleveland if we can force them to play at Fenway. Of course, a win tomorrow is required.

In Beckett we trust.

Exactly. Ya gotta win your League championship before you talk about the World Series.

Well, after this it doesn't matter too much, since either team will likely crush the Rockies into a fine paste. In my opinion, though, the Indians will be the ones to crush them. Partially because they're on a winning streak, partially because they have shown that even if they don't win tonight, they can rebound easily, and partially because I'm from Cleveland and lynchings would result if I said anything else right now.

Not that anyone I know is reading this, but I'd rather play it safe.

I've got a question: Does McCarver ever get a stat right?

First he couldn't figure out how how many people Beckett got out in a row. Then he botches up Beckett's pitch count.

EDIT: McCarver just said that Youkilis got a double instead of a triple.

Whoo. Beckett dominated like I expected. Sox won. Now we're heading back to Fenway. Let's see if Schilling can get back on his game.

Yep, I saw that. Though the stipulation was kinda high. He had to get to the World series for the Yanks to opt in the second year.

I dunno about that. I've been saying all year that the AL has a lot better teams than the NL, but the Rockies are really hot right now; they just aren't losing. It might be a good series.

I'm glad Torre turned down the deal.

Not because he's a piece of Yankee scum, but because the deal was absolute crap. It was a false move on the part of the Yankees management so they could go "heey we gave him an offer, HE'S the one that turned it down!!1". Screw you, Steinbrenner. Well done, Torre. There's no reason he should have taken that.

Game 7 of the ALCS tonight. Personally, I don't care who wins, because the Rockies will win the Series.

Rox and Sox?

You won't if you face Boston. Regardless of what you did against them in the regular season, this is the World Series and Boston has one thing that the Rockies don't: experience. Plus I think the week and a half layoff is going to hurt the Rockies.

Don't be too full of yourself here. In the World series, anything can happen.

The Sox pull off another glorious comeback.

The Rockies better get themselves ready. No matter what you say, that week and a half is going to hurt them. Also the snow that's not letting them play outside.

Games 3 and 4 are definitely going to be interesting. Not from a baseball stand point but from a meteorological one. Has a World Series game ever been postponed due to snow?

You also have to figure that the Sox are riding the momentum. The long wait for the Rockies might have killed theirs.

When I was following the game last night on ESPN.com, the analyst they had in the chat room made a good point about the Rockies and their momentum. He said that the team fed off it's own momentum and that as long as they were playing they were fine.

Also remember what happened last year with Detroit, they road a huge wave of momentum in the playoffs. They clobbered the Yanks 3-1, then they took care of the A's in a sweep. Then they had the same long wait as the Rockies have now and fell to the Cards in the World Series.

So it's 10-1 in the 5th Inning and the Sox are still batting.

OH YEAH!

I called it. I said the layoff was going to hurt the Rockies and look all the momentum is with Boston now.

EDIT: 13-1, Sox, Bottom 5.
