I think a movie would be fine, as long as....
Disney didn't do it (Ugh! H*R Disney movie?)
For the love of pete, NO Micdonalds toys of them!

Other than that, maybe a movie would be cool.

TBC will never make a two-hour long cartoon. EVER. There would be so much shark-jumping that even sharks would be jumping sharks.

However, a twenty- to thirty-minute cartoon released over four or five weeks would be much more plausible.

Hypothetical plot:
Strong Bad pulls a prank on Homestar, making him accidentally propose to Marzipan.

It just won't work. Like nearly everyone else said, it'd get boring after the first 30 mins or so. Plus many things can happen that shouldn't in Homestar such as illness, deaths, marriage and...just plain shark jumping. Perhaps if they did a three part toon with 20X6 maybe.

Bottom line: No

Not disagreeing with you, I'm just so pedantic that I have to point this out. I still agree with your general statement.

I meant like a life threatening diease like Ebola, Cancer or some kind of plague. Sorry if I was being too vague.

Okay, Ebola might be too rough but you know what I mean.

There will never be a Homestar Runner movie. Period.

Although, showing the site's toons before a movie may be a great idea. However, it would be a cinema company exclusive (i.e. Carmike Cinemas, AMC Theatres, Regal Entertainment).

I don't think that TBC would NEVER let Disney TOUCH Homestar. They don't seem like the type to like Disney any more than I do.

Only if it were direct-to-DVD.

I like your idea. That would be awesome.

Well heres a good idea. In the world of movies sometimes its not right to make a feature length film. But rather to make a one-hour special. Ive seen it on TV before and to me seems pretty good.

I don't think it's a good idea.

I've covered this in the now dead Homestar Runner group. (Which some of you may now know as the pornstar Runner due to the fact that it constantly fell victim to spam)

It would become a fad. A trend. And that may be cool with you guys, but to me, 11, 12, and 13 year old kids saying Homestar lines constantly, getting them wrong, and not knowing their origins, is eluding.

And the longest toon yet is the Halloween toon, which was 6:46. How will they make a movie based on 40 second-7 minute internet cartoons? It's an impossible task!

It just won't work!

Well, in all honesty, the website contents are on DVD. Of course, they did originate on the website, so I guess that defeats that.

But what if they were to re-release the contents on DVD again and this time thrown in some movie-type bonus found ONLY on the DVD? I'm thinking two movies on two discs: one is the actual Peasant's Quest movie and the other is a movie with Cheat Commandos.

You mean like in 2003 when homestarrunner.com was at its most popular?

My friend said it over and over and over and over...

I like toons better than a whole movie. I dont need to set aside an hour and a half just to watch a sbemail.

I tried to actually write one and send it to them, but I ran out of ideas and made it a 3 minute or less short. I think it would be cool on straight to DVD because it would be a flop at the box office. Not that many people know about HR.

No. That wasn't so bad. I'm talking worst case scenarios. More annoying. Burger King toys. Nickelodeon series. Icky.

It would be good if they released a H*R movie if they agree to the following criteria:

1. It has to be within Fox Searchlight, Paramount Vintage, or Picturehouse/Fine Line/New Line's areas of distribution.

2. It has to be PG or PG-13 because a profane Homestar is not a happy one.

3. It has to be like the actual cartoons themselves, not just an overused plot, but with an original plot.

4. It has to have some H*R music, like Sloshy and Limozeen, and some non-H*R music, like TMBG, Pavement, or any other band.

5. It has to include a bit of everything, including TGS and Sweet Cuppin' Cakes.

6. Strong Bad cannot make peace with Homestar, nor Homsar with anybody.

7. Homsar has to have a bit of the plot, duh! I like the guy!

8. No marketing should be for this film, except for previews on Comedy Central and MTV (as with MST3K's feature film; I didn't see Crow or Servo at McDonald's), but an offical soundtrack should be released on Harmless Junk/(any major label).

9. Get some good scriptwriters, like Mike, Matt, and Melissa. David Silverman and Mel Brooks, despite making some of the best scripts, aren't good in H*R Land.

10. Finally, include a reference to Captain Beefheart, a major influence on the Brothers Chaps.

Very no. I don't think a movie would work for Homestar. Seriously, it wouldn't work.

Anyway, aren't you all happy with what you have? Why aren't you all happy with what you already have?

Um I thought about this. N-O spells no
I've seen many a film turn bad from making a cheesey movie about it. It could be fun, but then Disney making it. Jibbly.... Jibbly....
So in answer to your question no.

It'd be pretty nice if they took a couple months off or something and made a one-off half-hour episode, and put it on one of the Everything Else dvds. Would sell like hotcakes too, I'd bet.

Well, yes, it would be cool to have a Homestar Runner Movie, but it would take The Brothers Chaps forever to do it and they would never be able to make it. It would get to boring after a while. Why can't people stay with the DVD's and watch retirement for dying out loud.

You know, that actually sounds both really cool and remotely plausible. Kind of like a serialized "Date Nite" feel to it.

No, they shouldn't IMO. I hate it when this sort of thing happens, and the movie rarely turns out good.
