Man, I come back after a brief break and the forum's all stupid-looking. This sucks.

I don't understand how people think the Forum looks bad when it's basically the same thing as before, but with brighter colors and a few changes to what appears around peoples' posts.

I imagine he means that the pages look extremely busy, and I think he's right. As opposed to the simplistic design that we used to have, this one looks like it has a whole lot more just absolutely everywhere. I got used to it after a day, and just learned to filter through it as I read.

So what's with the Yahoo [Bot] and Google [Bot]? I don't remember seeing those before... :-|

phpBB3 can detect the bots that Google and Yahoo send out to catalog websites. Before, they would just read as guests.

And what about [crawler] after the names of some users. What is that?

I haven't seen that yet, but it must be some kind of search engine, because that's what a crawler is.

This has been answered before, and yes, they are search engine crawlers. They were here before, but they were shown as guests.

What does the no new post icon mean when it has a black dot by it?

The black dot means that you have posted at least once in that thread.

I'm using the friend's thing, and I want to try the enemies thing, just to see what it does.

I believe it blocks any and all PMs you get from that person.

Has anyone suggested that we should be able to see our posts we've made, in order?

BECAUSE I AM!

You can already do that. You've always been able to do that.

It makes a list of your marked friends in your private message folder so it's easier to PM them.

You could on phpBB2. but now I can't find it. The "view your posts" section just shows threads that you've posted in, in order of whoever has posted in that thread last.

This way, if you don't get time to check some threads before you log off, you know which ones you haven't read for next time.
Also, if someone posts right before you log off, you don't miss it next time.
It does this? Wow. Now I don't have to worry about not having read anything if my brother kicks me off.

Actually, this irritates me. I liked the fact that it would automatically clear everything when I log off. Now I have to go out of my way to hit the stupid "mark all forums read" button.

Oh, boo-hoo, you have to take an extra 3 seconds to click something else on your way up to the logout button.

The fact that I've spent two years without doing it means there's about a 1/1000000 chance I'll remember to do it.

I love that it doesn't reset. Now I can open new forum windows without fear of getting the posts marked as read, and come back later to posts I haven't read but want to.
