Revised Links
Toon Page: http://www.homestarrunner.com/answer15.html

Emergency SWF: http://www.homestarrunner.com/answer15.swf
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the time of this post, there are a few pages with links to the 15th episode of Marzipan's Answering Machine, though the URL of the new toon is broken. No one seems to be awake on the Forum but me and there is currently no Wiki page for the toon.

Screenshot Evidence:
New Toons Menu: http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l30/S ... iracy1.png
The Missing Toon: http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l30/S ... iracy2.png
The Main Page Button: http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l30/S ... iracy3.png
Episode 14 with a 15 Button: http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l30/S ... iracy4.png

I'll add a poll when the Bros. Chaps become aware of this foul up and actually upload the toon instead of just dead links.

Edit: Poll Added and Links Updated

The SWF works, however. Just the HTML is still a no-go, apparently.

His name could be "King Wad of Town", or something else, since his character video indicates that his name isn't actually "King of Town".

I liked it. The mental image of The Cheat gnawing on the phone was adorable.

Poll and Links Added.

I'm voting 4|Super Great. Homestar's bit wasn't much to talk about and Coach Z's bit was just annoying. The other parts were okay, but they weren't funny to the point of me falling back in my chair.

My favorite part was The Cheat's prank call. I would very much like to see what remains of Strong Bad's phone after that.

It was OK. I must admit I never really liked answering machines, but I liked the easter egg and the "Questionable Surgeon." And of course the Cheat's attempted prank call :D.

I can see a feature like this comes out once a year. Hopefully there will be a few more to come this year.

By the way, in case you haven't checked the discussion page, there's a claim that the questionable surgeon is the same unseen character who advertised Expen$e Account Ones and Blubb-o's Spicy Crispy Chicken Melt because of his "Mmmmmm" and "Yes, that's right" lines. Don't you agree? If so, put it under Remarks or Inside References or something.

The Cheat's prank call FTW!

Coach Z sounded strange to me in this one. I mean, like, stranger than normal...

The Cheat and Strong Bad: Pure genius. The rest, not so much.
And the timing with AotW? Eerie.

Yeah, I'll agree that most of it wasn't the best, but there were some prime moments. Homestar's bit was a bit boring and Coach Z didn't really appeal to me, but the rest was pretty awesome, like the mental image of The Cheat gnawing on Strong Bad's phone being too adorable for words. I'm gonna...go with 3.

The easter egg was funny, but even funnier was the fact that I watched portrait last night. No real reason, just felt like watching portrait. And all of a sudden OH SNAP RETURN OF QUACKINGSTICK :eekdance:

Are you serious? Why would you vote Super Great if you thought the toon was mediocre? These polls never reflect actual public opinion...

All of the callers were overly aggressive, and it was just pointless. The whole thing felt really fake. It felt like TBC was trying to appeal to the crowd, and wasn't giving us anything creative or new. Marsipan's "operation" was really contrived. The only one that was moderately funny was Bub's desperate flee for other women. Yeah... this is one forgettable answering machine that I will never care to watch again.

Answering machines are okay with no animation if they have brilliant writing to make up for it. Some of of them succeed this way. This one needed to go through the writing phase a few more times.

Because I was in a good mood and The Cheat made up for the rest of it, perhaps?

Yes, thank you, I called another one! Freak-went forum viewers will recall that I called a new Answering Machine when they released "Sickly Sam's Big Outing."

It was good, and nice to see some not too recently updated stuff updated. Almost 3 years is too long, Now...Marzipan's Answering Machine anyone?

Yeah, I'm changing my name to prediction-boy!
Okay so aside from the fact that I predicted it, comments, it was funny, KoT, Surgeon and H*R's bit weren't, Coach Z's, Bubs', and SB/The Cheats were so, B+/A-

It's always a nice surprise to see that a less known section has been updated. My favorite message was Homestar's. He was hilariously stupid in this toon. :hr: I can't believe that Bubs gave up on Marzipan, though.

This is just my opinion (and clearly one that some other folks will disagree with, given you guys' comments), but you really can't go wrong with Marzipan's Answering Machine. I find them all entertaining, and there's really not a one that I wouldn't rate below a 4. Of course, some of them are better than others, and I will agree this one wasn't among the best, but hey, I found it entertaining.

And now, the gratuitously in-depth play-by-play...

"Well, well, well, Miss Marzithang": out of context, this is possibly the creepiest thing the KOT has ever said. Also, while he might be named something like "King Wad of Town," it occurs to me that we really have no idea what his full name is.

The Bubs' message vs. the Coach Z's message: highlights the contrast in their personalities. Bubs openly admits that Marzipan "isn't exactly his type" and then turns right around and asks her to put in a good word with the hypothetical ladies for him. Coach Z tries to sound like a big rap star and makes a thinly-veiled desperate plea for some "studio time" with Marzipan. See, Coach Z, Bubs is self-assured enough to admit that he's getting desperate for some ladytimes. You could learn a thing or two from that guy.

SB/teh C.: "Facewich." Heh. Also: gnawing on the phone. Heh.

QUESTIONABLE SURGEON: Did not see that coming. Did not see the easter egg coming either. I like to be surprised.

And that wraps it up for the DBX Review Show. Tune in next week, where I will hopefully do something less supererogatory and self-indulgent. Seriously, that post kind of got out of hand.

Call me easily amused, but I liked pretty much all the messages. The King of Town's embarrassing middle name, Homestar's fake conversation with Marzipan's answering machine ("Hello, Middle of our Conversation?"), Coach Z accidentally confessing his studio is a cardboard box with a broken microphone, the Cheat and Strong Bad's attempts at prank calls, and the Questionable Surgeon ("That's right, I pronounced it 'ad-VER-tis-ments'"). Bubs' message was a bit weak, even though we haven't heard a "Marzipan is the only girl around" joke lately, but the not-really-a-discount offer at the end was alright, as was the Easter Egg with "Lady Quackingstick".

The end with Bubs at the movies with Quackingstick was great! I also like Homestar calling Marzipan so he could act like he was on the phone to impress Marzipan and asking if she is jealous.

This is random, but I've tried and tried that toon to get the right combo to make that happen, but I can't! Is there a surefire way to get the right formula of a potion to see that?

Anyway, the Answering Machine was funny. I think the Questionable Surgeon was the best part. I'm thinkin I'm going to start pronouncing 'advertisements' that way.

4/5

other than the nose picture joke. i think this episode was pretty funny. It sure has revealed some facts about the charecters. now if pumkin-carve-nival was right. his full name must be king wad of town. and im pretty sure that fans wont be able to look at marzipan the same way.

Meh. I only laughed at, "Thank you, the end, very much," and Marzipan with a nose.

Keeping in mind how creepy Coach Z has been recently, I get this feeling he's gone all-out nuts now. Is he trying to seduce Marzipan? Whatever. The best part was Strong Bad trying to get The Cheat to prank call Marzipan. Though Bubs getting desperate for a lady-type is amusing as well. Overall, considering how rare Answering Machines are, I like it.

Is it just me, or did Marzipan's nose look like a... jingaling?

Not this guy, but... um... yeah.

3/5. It was okay, but I felt they were weak or dragged out for too long.
