Gottleib also has a major Anti-Syracuse bias. It started in 2003 when Syracuse defeated his beloved Jayhawks and got worse when he tried to rail on Jim Boeheim in 2005 because the Orange didn't leave the state of New York during their non-conference schedule. Boeheim ripped him a fresh one live on ESPN. Last year it really made he really made it known. During the week leading up to Selection Sunday, he had the Orange in the tournament(this after saying all year that SU would not go) and the minute that SU got snubbed, he hops back over to saying that Syracuse didn't deserve to go. This was in spite of Digger, Jay, Hubert and Dickie V saying that they should have gone.
Didn't deserve to be in!? They were a number 4 seed!! Of course they deserved to be in! I think that year I had UK/Syracuse in the Elite Eight. I was half right.

Kansas is THUMPING Kansas State. You know what they say about payback.

TOTPD!! :eekdance: :eekdance:

No, I am talking about last year when Syracuse got snubbed and was replaced in the tournament by Arkansas.

Well if Syracuse doesn't go to the NCAA Tournament, Upstate New York will have a team in the tournament.

I'd rather see him go to CBS and choke slam Billy Packer through a table.

Only 10?
My hatred for Billy Packer is so strong that I, a Kentucky fan, would kiss Coach K if he would chokeslam Billy Packer through a table.

Syracuse stomped Marquette, UNC beat Duke and did you see that game winning shot in the UCLA game? If you are playing HORSE and someone sinks that shot, you take the "H."

I'm still debating whether or not that should've counted. There was a whole half a second where you couldn't even see the ball. It probably should have been out of bounds.

Shot shouldn't have counted. If the rule is the ball can't go over the backboard, then it can't go over the backboard.

That being said...GO CATS!!!! Finally beat Florida!! Gator fans can just to it, it's going to be a common trend.

My Tops are playing Middle Tennessee(?!?!)* in the Sun Belt finals.
All the South meteorology students get a good view of the game at least (the meteorology classes at South are in the Mitchell Center (where the game is).
The winner is goin' dancing and there's a decent chance that a WKU loss might still land them in the tournament.
16-1 in their last 17 games, and RPI of 50 (which is right on the bubble :-( ) 6 total losses (2 to South Alabama, a loss by 6 to Tennessee, a loss by 3 to Gonzaga, Southern Illinois, and Northern Arizona).

*THE SUNBELT FINALS AREN'T WKU/SOUTH ALABAMA?!?!

Toppers are goin dancing...
Oh yeah.

Men AND Women...

Only one team has pulled the "Daily Double" in the Sunbelt, having their men and women win. Tonight, that team did it for the fourth time.

Celebrate good times, indeed.

I bet they'll play Florida. The Sunbelt champ seems to ALWAYS play Florida in the first round.
What's up with that?

I'm very happy for Western Kentucky. One of my former classmates is a freshman this year on their team.

BAH!!! Syracuse lost in the first round of the Big East Tournament. Hello NIT.

On a more positive note, George Mason has made it back to the Big Dance. Here's hoping they draw UConn.

So....
The Georgia Dome roof has a big hole in it.
Thank you severe weather.

Who knows when this game will wrap up and when the Kentucky game will start?

The worst part for the winner of the Kentucky/Georgia game is that they'll have a game at 3:00 PM tomorrow.
EDIT: Finally it's over. Way to go Mississippi State. I love their coach: "I have to talk to my assistants. None of them put that tornado on the scouting report."

They had a guy going to the foul line right before that hit. That, my friend, is the way to ice a shooter; have a tornado (or at least a possible tornado) tear a hole in the roof.

So either Kentucky or Georgia have to play 2 games tomorrow now... Lovely.

I can't believe the damage... I love the fact that one could kayak through the Georgia World Congress Center.

I already knew that. haha

It's Steffphon Pettigrew if you're curious. Last year's Mr. Basketball.

My high school girl's team is in the Final Four of the State tournament. So if they win tomorrow morning, I'll be in Bowling Green all day.

Kentucky has to play twice tomorrow if they win...yay...[/sarcasm].

Dude, this damage is insane.
The Georgia World Congress Center (BIG freakin' convention center) is flooding, one of the entrances (one of the main one's that's something like solid glass) is destroyed, Phillips Arena and CNN center (they're pretty much connected) have damage, the Omni Hotel lost windows, had people taken to the hospital and is being evacuated.
While I hate to think that the SEC tournament might not be finished in a way that's fair to the teams in this game tonight, it really seems like a minor note considering everything that's happening in Atlanta.

EDIT: They're saying all of the windows in the Omni Hotel facing Centennial Olympic Park were blown out. Man, it's a miracle more people weren't hurt. That area of town isn't usually packed with people at night, but with 25-30,000 fans in the Dome and about that many fans of other teams in the nearby hotels, it's a miracle more people weren't hurt.

OK, so Kentucky and Georgia play today at noon, with the winner playing again at 9 tonight.
They're moving the games to Georgia Tech's arena, which only holds about 9000 people.

As a result, they're having to limit admission of the games to the coaches and players' families (possibly their guests), the bands, the cheerleaders, and the media.

There are going to be a lot of unhappy fans, for sure, but from what I hear, there are plenty of people in that area that have bigger things to worry about. I've talked to a couple people down there. One said his windows got blown out of his hotel room and he had to stay with a friend in another hotel. He said he had no clue where the other people were going or what they were doing (because the evacuated the damaged rooms at the Omni and wouldn't let people back into those rooms).

Georgia just made history. They've become the first team in college basketball's modern era to win 2 games in one day.
Good job, Bulldogs, good job.

I can't believe Mount St. Mary's is going to the NCAA tournament. It's really cool having a school that's practically right next to us going to it.

Hootie hoo! South Alabama is in as a 10 seed.
Guess I won my bet.
Everyone said I was crazy for saying they were an at-large team.

Also, what's with the locations of the games? They need to name the regions 1, 2, 3, and 4 or put the freakin' regional games in those regions.
I know, it's never been like that, but still.

Sorry Drake. It's just not your time.
Go Toppers!!

Also, I love how the conference tourney champ from the Sun Belt got a 12 seed while a team that lost in the semi-finals got a 10 seed. Then again, South DID beat us twice.

Final Four: UNC, Texas, UCLA and Kansas. Memphis won't make it because of their horrible free throw shooting.

Final Game: UNC and UCLA

National Champ: UCLA

Those are my pics.

And yay, UK is IN!!!!
