New toon, found via an Easter Egg in shapeshifter:

Strong Bad Gameways

wiki link

I loved the short, and I thought it was awesome how they hid the code in shapeshifter. I only wish I had figured it out on my own without the wiki!

I found it via LiveJournal and was really confused. So I had to watch it a second time. My guess is that it was taken down to fix the comments, which were really glitchy. I hope it comes back up again.

The original poster was 'sportsinterviews'.
Edit: Sorry, it was 'sportsinterviewa'. I thought it was a typo, my bad.

I've just used KeepVid to download the .flv of the mirrored YouTube video (you can download a higher-quality .mp4 as well). I registered a wiki account to upload it to the wiki in case the worst should happen, but it said I need to be autoconfirmed to upload anything. How long does that take?

Edit: I can't be the only one hoping that this will be part of an official Homestar Runner WiiWare game.

It'll take about a day from now to become autoconfirmed. However, I'm pretty sure that .flv and .mp4 aren't supported as file formats. If the worst happens, though, you can send your files to an admin (Tom or It's dot com), and they can put it on the mirror site.

By the way, welcome to the wiki!

The final name they settled on was "Strong Bad Gameways". I believe that the name of the video when they first uploaded it was "Strong Bad Wii Safety Video", which is why it appears some places (such as Viewing History) under that title. But it looks like "Strong Bad Gameways" is the official title.

yea, it's definitely called 'Strong Bad Gameways'. You can still see it listed under sportsinterviewa's youtube page under most viewed videos.

Oh god, this supports my edited-into-my-previous-post theory. Homestar Runner for Wii!

Edit: ah, so they changed the title. Ah well, I can live in hope.

It's back up. The comments are still glitched, though.

Nintendo should release a Strong Bad game! It would sell like crazy!

Fixed.

I wonder why they didn't just make a SWF? Why Youtube?

I'm guessing they used YouTube because it would be too easy to find the easter egg in a SWF. Or something. Come on, when you think of Homestar Runner, you don't think to check YouTube! I think the decision was brilliant.

Hmm. If this is a slightly-less-ordinary-than-normal easter egg, why did it have such great complexity and production values?

I hold this in high regards as one of the best H*R videos ever made. The Wii safety jokes were dead-on and everything was really funny. I also really liked the 3-D Strongbad.

They did this because of copyright infringement problems. On Youtube, they can't really be sued...

The only copyright (really trademark) issue I can see here is "flotsam & Jetsons". The Wii wasn't mentioned by name and the device's design is uncopyrightable. Unless there's something I'm missing here...

I agree: there's no copyright issue. Even if they had used the Wii name, I don't think it would have been infringement. The short was a parody of the Wii's safety measures, and my understanding is that parodies like these aren't copyright infringement.

I doubt that. There's loads of small bits of potential copyright/trademark infringement all over the site. For instance, the "challenge and fighting and fighting and challenge tonight" song is from Rad Racer, and I doubt that they got permission from Square to use it.

Has anyone noticed how Strong Bad probably has his accent again?

Don't see why that'd be a problem. TBC have uploaded video clips to their site before.

Sounds the same as his normal voice to me. It certainly doesn't sound like it did in the early Tandy era.

True, but I think he does have a slight accent.
