Because I don't, and I can't speak for them.

I will say this, I know a lot more people that drink alcohol and are in control of their lives than people who use heroin, cocaine, meth, etc that are in charge of theirs.

I think ecstasy is the posterchild for how dangerous the drug war is. Ecstasy is one of the more benign drugs, though it does carry a 1 in 100,000 risk of fatal hyperthermia. Still, it is much less dangerous than tobacco and alcohol. Problem is, most ecstasy is cut with other stuff, like ephedrine, caffeine, and meth. That stuff, in the dosages the pills have, is pretty dangerous. Because there is no regulation for the product, people are dying preventable deaths. Ecstasy is not dangerous, and would be even less dangerous if people felt safe to call 911, if the pills were made by someone reliable, if they didn't have the constant threat of the government and prosecution for enjoying yourself. I say marijuana, LSD, ecstasy, shrooms and peyote should all be legal. Alcohol causes more deaths than all of those combined each year. It seems the only purpose of laws against them is Puritanical tradition.

Maybe, maybe not. It's a risky road to travel without more research:

Many within science, health care, and drug policy are concerned that MDMA may lead to neurotoxic damage of the central nervous system, the reversibility, extent and significance of which is yet to be fully determined[2][3]. Based on these and other health concerns, some feel the risks of even single doses of MDMA outweigh its potential benefits[4][5]. Others feel that these concerns are based on inconclusive evidence and that MDMA deserves further study[6][7]. Studies have been initiated to examine the therapeutic potential of MDMA for posttraumatic stress disorder and anxiety associated with cancer. In addition, several research groups are using it in humans for basic scientific research.[8]

DanceSafe has an interesting slideshow about MDMA neurotoxicity. Here's another study showing no neurotoxicity. And here's another summary indicating the low risk of moderate MDMA use.

Personally I don't even drink coffee, let alone do MDMA, but neurotoxicity of MDMA is far overstated.

Hmm... Yeah, your links make me think about that one. I have a Doctor friend who specializes in Addiction Medicine and he's really against it as recreational drug use based on studies showing the opposite results. He said he'd had patients with really bad problems after using, but it may be because it could've been mixed with other drugs. So it makes me wonder...

Interesting use of "therefore."

Are you 100% in agreement with everything Ron Paul says?

That's 'cause the drugs aren't legal yet. If more people had access to them, the death rate due to them would skyrocket.

And you're basing this off what, what they told you in health class? Marijuana's biggest danger is that it's unfiltered and may be carcinogenic, though not nearly as much as tobacco. LSD, peyote, and mushrooms are extremely non-toxic, and the only LSD overdoses were about one thousand times the normal dose. Sure, people can make stupid decisions on them, and they can make stupid decisions on alcohol too.

Any burnt organic material is carcinogenic, mildly or otherwise.
However, doing a quick Google search for "marijuana and cancer," these are the first three results:

Heh, not really. And also, quit it with your "fundie" shtick. A few times is okay, and you've stepped way beyond that, especially with this post. That's a warning.

You can eat a cannabis treat instead of smoking. The effects are much more pleasant in my opinion, anyway. It lasts a bit longer, but it's not as intense. Plus, there are no health dangers at all if you go this route.
