Except yeah, it's someone else's smiley.

I'm sure Disk could come up with something cool and unique for the forum, he's good at that stuff.

No, they're emoticons phpBB let you choose for the forum. These emoticons are from, like, deviantART and unrelated websites.

The smilies we currently have are either the basic phpBB3 smilies or slight variations thereof. The smilies people have recently suggested are from specific places (Tingle from Fanboys forum, Argh from Fanboys/Something Awful, Awesome Smiley from FB/SA).

EDIT: Ninti beat me to it

Add these:

They're cool, unique, specific to this forum, and completely user-made. They're useful and functional to boot.

I'll see what I can do for smilies. I have a bunch of stuff to do for here since I've been out for a day and a half, so it'll probably take awhile.

EDIT: Okay, do you all want me to attempt to remake the original phpBB emoticons that the Forum currently has, or just make some new ones? If you want me to just make some new ones, do you want them in the style of the current phpBB emoticons, or changed around a bit?

Are there any emoticons that you want me to make in particular? I have a few in mind.

Yeah, I think this is what they want, but you can change them around a bit. I think people just want ones like the shaking fist that've been specifically mentioned here, and in the phpBB style like the ones quoted in my post (made by FireBird and someone else, I think). But you can change the style if you want/need too, and make whatever you want, really, as long as you don't add the awesome smiley, because it will result in Ace going suicidal. ::<3::*

*Dangit, I don't think the Greasemonkey script works correctly in Firefox 3...

A long time ago, but it also disappeared a long time ago, and then we re-added it a little while before the phpBB 3 upgrade.

I made it awhile ago...probably around September last year.

Okay: so same style, no remakes. Alrighty.

EDIT: God do limitations suck.

EDIT 2: Screw it; let's try remaking them...

Kiss faces! Loving! Shaking fists! Sticking tongues! Fury! Rage! Drama!
You know, the smilies that represent the way we react to the computer screen at posts.
I particularly want a kissy/heart smiley of somesort. blushing just doesn't cut it sometimes.

Since I'm going to go on an adventure to remake the old ones with a new style, this may take awhile. And then you all will probably hate the new style, resulting in me going back to the drawing board with tiny 15x15 images.

EDIT: I'm not going to risk going any smaller with these: how do these emoticons look?

Disk told me on AIM to respond to his edit so it would be noticed.

So that is what I am doing.

Hmm...is it worth singling out some people by making APNG emoticons (which should be supported by most major browsers at this point), or should I deal with rough-edge animated GIF emoticons? Hmm...

(oh, and all of my emoticons will go in the previous post of mine; I'm still working on the regular ones, though I'll be sure to make some new ones later tomorrow or something)

EDIT: k I'm stupid; I forgot that I could semi-flatten the GIFs to make them smoother.

Why did you remake the old ones? I thought the point was to make/suggest some new ones. I don't think the admins would see much point in redoing the old ones, especially because they's have to get rid of the originals, and upload the same basic ones slightly redone. (remember, their argument against a lot of things is that we don't NEED it)

Well, the reason why I did it was because it was fairly challenging to make emoticons that looked good in the phpBB2 style of previous emoticons (and they looked pretty bad compared to other styles). I decided to remake them to keep a similar style for all of the emoticons (I'm not done yet, though).

If I attempt to maintain this style, then I'm going to have to find a way to get these emoticons looking okay as animated GIFs.

Well, like I said, it's pretty unlikely that any admin will want to spend time deleting and reuploading. Yours look nice, and I like them, but the fact that we'd have to replace the old ones for what essentially is the same expression but larger, seems unnecessary.

I'd suggest working on new expressions for right now. As for whether the style seems weird next to the phpBB2 style, well, we can work that out later.

True. Really though, these don't take too long to make, so I may as well expand my image editing experience by remaking the old ones with new ones, even if they're rejected. :P

We need a "Laugh so hard I cried" emoticon. Or at least a "Laughing" emoticon. And maybe a "Laughing at you" emoticon (It would be A laugh with a hand pointing toward the screen.).

The laughing emote reminds me, we need a "Screaming in horror until you throw up" emote.

You mean an "AAAARRRRRGGGGLLLBLBLLBLBL!!!" emoticon?

DO IT.

I'll add it to the Emoticon Agenda. I still have a bunch of them to do, so it'll probably take awhile.

Never mind, I'm doing it. Unfortunately, it's on my laptop, which has a dead battery. I'll do it later...

We should have a "Scratching my chin, thinking, and going 'Hmmmmmm.'" emoticon.
I'm sorry I don't make any of these, but if I did, they would suck.

I still think, in addition, we need a shifty eyes/ suspicious.

Oh, and those new styles you made Disk, rule.

Heh...I have a lot of ideas for new emoticons now. I wonder how many--if any at all--would be accepted. :P

I'd say that I'll be done with most of the emoticons by late tomorrow. I'll see what all I can do.

I reinstalled Jones' Emoticon thing and it's still pretty sweet. I still think this could work. I lost Speckeldorf's emoticon set, though. Maybe Ed still has it...?
