This thread should have the poll removed, be renamed "Firefox is soooo rad", and moved to Off-Subject.

'Course it exists. I'm using it.
…Oh, I remember hating that as soon as I started using Internet Explorer.

And hating that as soon as Firefox was installed.

It's odd how 95% of the forum uses Firefox, but IE dominates like 85% of the market.

Let's put it this way; we're the remaining 15% of the Internet who actually has a IQ of more than 50.

It's just an internet browser.

Seriously.

Guys, using Firefox doesn't make you better than other people, it just means you use a better browser.

True, but how many preps/jocks do you know use Firefox, let alone know what it is?

And labels matter... because? You're implying that people who are rich or play sports are not intelligent? And that using a simplier web browser means that you must have a simpler brain?

You know, some people(like me) just want to surf the internet. That's it. We don't need doodads. What the heck does that have to do with intelligence?

"cool kids" does not equal "preps/jocks and/or stupid people and/or IE users or... anything"

Man. To be young again. :-| I mean no disrespect, but seriously, kill the labels. Break the chain.

Correlation and causation are different. Someone is not more intelligent BECAUSE they use Firefox, but they are more likely to be intelligent based on a random sample.

As for Internet Explorer's commonness, it's only because it comes with Windows and isn't broken enough that casual, computer illiterate users feel the need to get anything else. Ironically, my mom who doesn't understand computers uses Firefox, but my dad with a degree in computer science who does tons of business on his computer refuses to use anything but Internet Explorer. Most likely because he has never heard of Firefox and thinks it could be spyware or something.

I think it's probably because if you use the internet enough to be a regular here, you use the internet enough to notice how annoying IE is.

It's never annoyed me, though. And I've been on the internet since the 80's. Well, IE wasn't around back then, but...

I had no problem with IE. The only difference between that and Firefox is the add-ons. If I didn't want the Homestar grease monkey thing, I'd still have IE.

This post made with IE7 for the purposes of SIMULTANEOUS POSTING

note: I had to rewrite "simultaneous" 4 times because IE doesn't spellcheck

See, that's another thing. IE encourages you to study/think for yourself. ;)

I know how to spell simultaneous. I am a bad hunt-and-peck typist and I make a lot of typos as a result.
