Rock Band is far superior. I can't even play Guitar Hero anymore after playing Rock Band. It's completely unplayable to me now.

Yeah, I like GH wayyyyyyy better. The rectangular notes on RB whack me out, and even though the song they pick for GH are terrible, they're still fun to play. Like Before I Forget.

For now, Rock Band. Both games have their flaws at the moment, though.

Rock Band is more playable with better gameplay.

And the songs aren't ruined by being covered in a terribly annoying manner.

Rock Band is more fun, but usually only if you have other people to play with.

Rock Band is more fun, but I can't really think of anything that ISN'T more fun with four people rather than one or two, so I'm not sure that's fair. The drums are fun, but when you know how to play the real instrument a lot of the novelty is gone. Also, I hate the notes on Rock Band; it makes it too hard to tell what you have to strum or not. On the other hand, the developers of Guitar Hero are idiots, whoring themselves out frequently, unable to understand good downloadable content (at least for now), and don't want to make their equipment cross-compatible (though Rock Band's developers share some of that blame.) They both have their strong points, but I'd say overall Guitar Hero wins win it comes to the amount of fun had with the number of players considered.

I haven't played Rock Band yet but Guitar Hero's current developers are killing the franchise. Apparently making a good game = flip flopping and turning all the characters into scumbags (I'm looking at you Judy)

I predict that by 2010 we'll have Guitar Hero: Katy Perry.

Guitar Hero offers one instrument, Rock Band offers three. Fortunately, Guitar Hero compensates by cramming three times as many notes into the guitar songs, even if they make no sense!

I'm holding out to see which game is better between Guitar Hero: World Tour and Rock Band on the Wii. Currently I just have GHIII. I so hope that they'll but some lesser known bands like Project 86, He Is Legend, Demon Hunter, or Skillet in there. That would pwn!

They don't count. That would disprove my point.

Basically what I'm getting at is I hate Christian rock and don't want them to put it in the game.

Oh yeah, neither do I, I just get my kicks by proving other people wrong

Barenaked Ladies deserve a shot more than any Christian rock band.

Hey, if a song is good and just happens to be Christian rock, what's wrong with putting that in the game?

It's only a problem if it's that whiny, repetitive stuff they play on Christian radio stations that is often generalized as being the entirety of Christian rock (the genre has more creative stuff than that... on rare occasions), but that is nicely covered in the following rule that has always existed: don't put bad music in the game.

It's still Christian rock.

Even if you hate it, there could still a couple song exceptions, aren't there?

It could be an alright song but there'll still be some "PRAISE THE LORD WOOO" part in it.

Yeah, that Brian Wilson song is pretty rad.

I'm still rooting for "I Believe In a Thing Called Love" though. That song would be INTENSE for vocals.

Not for meh'. I can totally hit those high notes. I mean, I sing the Flyleaf song and nail it, and my friends think I'm whack for even singing that high. The rest of the song wouldn't be that bad I don't think. =/

Which doesn't keep it from being an alright song. Plus some songs are more subtle.

I Believe in a Thing Called Love would be absolutely awesome to have to sing. Sadly, however, you can lower (or raise? :/) your octave and still pick up notes. On one hand, it makes songs like Tom Sawyer possible, but on the other hand... only wimps use it. :P

It does for me. I don't like religion in my music.

I'm sorry to hear that you filter your music based on something as mundane as the words some guy sings. Heck, a lot of really famous songs have religion in them, you just don't typically notice because they're actually tasteful, rather than beat-you-over-the-head stuff. In my opinion, a good song is a good song even if it's about bean burritos or statutory rape (I'm looking at you, Winger!) for all I care.

This thread is supposed to be about Guitar Hero and Rock Band, though, not about limiting one's horizons. We should stop.

I dunno, I'm sure tons of people wouldn't listen to Maiden's "Number of the Beast" because they find it Satanic. It's a two way road, really. There's nothing wrong with not listening to a song because you don't like the lyrics. Especially since lyrics are half the song, and very important. Sabbath's Paranoid wouldn't be as good without those lyrics, and the same goes for other songs.

But I digress. Toastpaint.

Well I can't understand anything he's singing but I agree, Number of the Beast would suck without the lyrics.

I heard that that was uncomfortable and bad.
