There's actually lots of metal in the games, just nothing made after 1990.

^Madhouse wasn't a real thrashy song in my opinion. At least they got 'Caught in a Mosh' by Anthrax on 80's.

And GH metal would be fail. It would be MTV's perception of metal. And saying that, god I hope Cradle of Filth never gets that sold-out-ish. I mean, c'mon, before it was jumping labels. Now they have music vids directed by Bam Margera!

Since it's a new series, they're using old songs. Ace of Spades is in Rock Band 2 I think and that was in the first GH.

That's retarded. I don't want to play the same thing in career mode again. The old songs should be like, downloadable bonus tracks. Get some more fresh stuff in there.

Well a big problem with putting metal in is they need songs where the singers actually somewhat sing, because it's not any fun to have to scream/die of constipation for a whole song. That limits the options, and if they want to use well-known bands, they're pretty much only have 1980s metal to work with.

Also I don't mind repeat sons as long as they're good ones and they never before were used in games with drums and vocals. Por ejemplo, if they put something like Won't Get Fooled Again in, that'd be lame, but The Seeker, on the other hand, wouldn't be.

But that's the FUN PART! You can add in your own words while you scream of constipation, like for something in Atreyu (couldn't think of any other screamer band) and go "IIIIIIIIIIIII waaaaaaaaaaannnnt soooooooomme DIN-NER! (rock out) DIN-NER!" Instead of blood and guts and metal stuff.

Preferably Acid Rain.

I read an interview in Game Informer with one of the developers of GH4, and he said they were going to put at least one Dream Theater song in. :D

I talked to Jordan Rudess today, he said there's also a good chance they'd be in Rock Band 2.

Man, I still can't belive you're on a speaking basis with one of my favorite keyboardists ever. That's cool, though.

Amen. Except notice on that list: Panic Attack.
awww that's like one of their weakest songs. Like Potates said, I would've rather seen something from their side project, LTE. Maybe Acid Rain or Paradigm Shift... Still, I guess that wouldn't be mainstream enough for them.

The Dark Eternal Night would be fun on every instrument.

Gawd no. I think Won't Get Fooled Again is a much better song.

I was saying there was a difference. The Seeker has only been in Guitar Hero III. Won't Get Fooled Again was in Rock Band. Meaning, The Seeker has not had its drum/vocal parts made available in a rhythm game yet.

The Dark Eternal Night is easily the worst song they've written since Falling Into Infinity. That said, it'd still be pretty fun to play, except I think there's way too much bass drum to be playable. Plus it's a little too repetitive. A song that is playable with the Rock Band instruments, however, is Never Enough, which is also not one of their better songs, but it would be a ton of fun (and really hard) for all four players.

I'm fairly sure the track lists on both games are finalized by now, but who knows.

They need to add a double bass to the Rockband drum set.

Guys guys guys.

Paradigm Shift.

It's kind of long, but it would still be great for GH. I guess you could cut out some of the keyboard parts...

Tom Sawyer I can understand, but you don't need a double bass in Run to the Hills.
Next time I play drums for rockband, I'm getting a block of wood for my heel. It's seriously easier to tap bass pedal hits like that, especially with two bass pedals.

Another good reason to add a double bass to music games.

 It has no vocals, though. I doubt they would put that in the game.

That sounds like a really good idea. I'd do it myself, but I don't have an MP3 car player. :(

Have you ever seen one of those cassette tape things with a cord hanging out from the side of it? Plug your MP3 player into that, and put the cassette into your cassette drive in the car. Turn on the tape player and it should work.

Most cars don't even come with cassette decks these days. But there are other workarounds.

So I thought I read somewhere a long long time ago that Neversoft trademarked Keyboard Hero. So...... where's the frickin keyboards? Anyone hear about that?

People trademark lots of things in case they want to use it in the future. It doesn't mean they necessarily will. They also own "Drum Villain." Which, unless counting how it got absorbed into GH4, never was made and never will be.

Keyboard Hero would be awesome. I hope we'd get to play as the guy with T-shirt tuexedo from GHII.

If there's Keyboard Hero, I want to be able to play as Geddy Lee. Also, Tom Sawyer must be included. No exceptions.

But the only noteworthy keyboard part there is the 7/8 lick, which, as awesome as it is, is the same thing over and over.

Keyboard hero would more or less be an actual keyboard with either lighted notes, or the notes passing on screen. It would actually teach you to play keyboard instead of just pressing random buttons.

Hm... I've actually seen real keyboards that do that, tho. There's probably patents on it that they wouldn't feel like shelling out for to do it that way, tho it would be awesome if you'd come away from the game actually knowing how to do something.

If the "keyboard" was something like the controls for Guitar Hero DS, maybe that would work.

You mean a tiny 5-10 button thing that looks liek a keyboard and is pretty much just a guitar without the strumbar?

A problem, however, is that to look/feel natural, a keyboard would need at least 13 keys. Otherwise it would barely count as learning real skills. It could be done, but it would still be pretty complicated. But then again, maybe Easy would only use C, D, E and F, Medium would use C, D, E, F, G and A, Hard would use all the white keys, and Expert would use the black keys too. Could work.
