^^it was at this point I realized that it had to be fake.

You didn't realize it was fake after:
Quote:
Meanwhile, this spontaneous culmination felt like the planets aligning, and I had a rare moment of clarity. I entered a deep trance and my personal muse, Reggie Fils-Aime, appeared in my ear, whispering the secrets of E3. My brain, an insatiable Nintendo-stamped sponge since the age of five, soaked up every vowel, consonant and syllable that came forth from Reggie’s mouth. The future was clear: the next Zelda, whenever it arrives, will be a masterpiece for the ages. Oh, and it will be 16-bit.

Or:
Quote:
Before I go any further, first, a disclaimer: I am privy to no insider knowledge about Nintendo, its plans, or what it has in store for us at E3. I have heard no rumors outside of what’s basically been reported here at Infendo and at the major gaming blogs. I am not really clairvoyant, nor do I speak regularly with Reggie Fils-Aime or Shigeru Miyamoto, unless, of course, you count the times, late at night, when I attempted to animate a recent article of Wired magazine that featured an interview with Miyamoto in NYC with my mind.

It was just a random guess.

There are actual game journalists who write like that so I just glossed over it without really reading.

Dear 3rd Party Developers:

This is the type of effort you should be putting into Wii games. If a small development company like High Voltage Software (who lacks a publisher, I may add) can pull off something like this, then who knows what the rest of you can do with the console?

Sincerely,
Disk

Seriously, The Conduit is shaping up to be an amazing game. A playable demo will be available behind closed doors at E3, so we'll be seeing more information about it shortly. In case you don't know what this game is, see its Wikipedia page and the link I provided earlier in this post.

I am so happy that a 3rd party developer is actually throwing all of their effort behind a Wii game. They even made an engine specifically for the Wii that allows them to apply all sorts of shaders that were deemed impossible to use in-bulk by some developers. In a matter of weeks, they basically face-lifted the game by applying a few simple effects:

Gun model before:
Image

Gun model after:
Image

(more screens here)

They still have over half of a year worth of development time left, which they're going to use to fine-tune the game and add in 16-player online multiplayer.

Okay, I'm done being happy about a developer not making shovelware or a port for the Wii.

I don't see what all the fuss is about this game.

Everyone's talking about how it has an impressive graphics engine and it still looks below average

It's one of the first original Wii games by a 3rd party that isn't a port of some other game. Plus, they're always improving the graphics engine (as those screenshots showed); in a matter of weeks, they've completely changed how the game looks with just a few shaders. They still have nine months until the game is released, so they're still able to get rid of the remaining placeholder effects and actually work on the details in the environments.

It's also not that its a great-looking Wii game--the Wii is capable of much more--but it's the fact that a developer is actually trying on the Wii while making a game in a weak genre on the Wii (First Person Shooters). They're also putting a lot of development time behind the online multiplayer, which can't be said for a bunch of Wii games.

I can see this game being extremely awesome, but selling horribly.

Its gonna sell good simply because the entire internet is focusing on it right now.

@jon: The developers have said that when playing on a widescreen TV the game looks so much better then the screens that they cant even describe it. Also, they want this game to run at 60 frames per second. *drools*

heh, did anyone else notice Defcon on the screen in the corner?

This game looks pretty promising, but I can't see what makes it more then just another generic FPS...

Mario Baseball Coming for Wii

I could care less that it's another Mario Sports title, I liked the first one and the concept of Wi-Fi with this is grand.

Its been all over the news sites when it was first announced. There have been countless interviews with the creators and now all the media is just waiting for E3 to see some more footage of the game.

The Japanese version didn't have Wi-Fi, so this one probably won't.

That's retarded. I thought we were past the point of making any Mario sports games without online capability.

OH THAT DATA DESIGN!

(I wish Nintendo would have some sort of quality control to prevent Data Design's games from being put on the Wii)

Here's more info on Project Deluge:
http://www.zeldauniverse.net/zelda-news ... ext-zelda/

While it is an interesting read, it's not like Aonuma to leak so much vital plot information before E3. I mean, come on. He even describes the horse and a brand new weapon with detail. Fake.
But still... a Majora's Mask-like urgency to the game sounds so fragging good. *would actually want the game*

EDIT: Hay look moar rumor stuff

Reading some of the comments from Ath's first link....

Um that’s not the case, have you read any of my fan fics?
This kid has to be joking...

Anyways, all of the stuff in the supposed interview sounds really cool, I'd be glad if it were all true, but I doubt it is.

NGamer is saying that Animal Crossing Wii is finished and not an MMO, and that a Punch-Out! game is in development that uses the Balance Board.

Oh god please be true. Animal Crossing is basically confirmed for E3 either way along with Pikmin 3, but still: the earlier the better.

The "big groundbreaking announcement" will be either Wii Music, Wii Motorsports, or Captain Rainbow. ;)

I'll gladly accept Wave Race Wii or Excite Truck 2, though.

<audition for WiiFit's Before/After results commercial>
It's been two months since I've gotten WiiFit and the hype died among the entire household. But I still use it. People are complimenting me-- saying I looked more toned and I've lost weight... just because I've been playing video games every day! :D

HERE's an idea!

Everybody's been talking steampunk Zelda, boy that idea's great.

Well, I think I have a better idea.

CYBERPUNK ZELDA

think about it for a little while
