Tell us about your sims, your storylines and expansions.

I've got all the expansions but uni's my favourite.

I only have the University expansion. If Sims 3 wasn't right around the corner, I probably would buy all the expansions, like I did for the original, but I probably won't, due to me needing money in other areas of my life.
I love playing the Sims only as a last resort boredom event. If I play it too much, it loses its appeal to me, and that's when I stop playing it completely for a few months. I definitely play it in spells. But when I do sit down and play it, I make sure I have a huge timeframe around me, because I can and HAVE played for seven, eight hours without stopping FOR ANYTHING.

I just recently did a family.
First generation, the parents were both very creative, and painted all the time. By their death, every single blank space in the house was filled with one of their paintings. Their adopted daughter, Allyn quickly took the Business career path in her teen years, and after she became an adult, was met with success by chance, and made it to the top of the Business career in about eight days after becoming an adult. She met and married Zeke, and they had twin together, Heather and Rylynn. Zeke works in the Scientist field, and slowly rose through the ranks as the girls aged. Eventually, through hardship (and a lot of Elixir of Life), Zeke made it to Mad Scientist, with plenty of time left in his adult life left. So I did the next thing any Knowledge sim aspires to. I maxed out all of his skills.

And that's all I done so far.

I HAD just Sims 2 without any expansions or anything, then it broke.

I once had a family of two who adopted a kid, but I really, really didn't like this kid, so I killed him, and then his ghost killed the father. He was avenging his death of drowning my killing his dad apparently, and I don't even think his dad was there.

The Sims 2= One of my absolute favorite games. In order I got them, I have Teen Style Stuff, Pets, University, Free Time, and Seasons. And it is epically fun to watch the idjits I call Sims go out in the middle of winter for a water [read ice] balloon fight.

We used to have Sims 1: Making Magic. That was fun.

I remember once me, my sibligns, and my brother's friend all did a family together and we all became politicians. One day we held a dinner party. Our stupid neighbor Pierre came over and started a fire with a toaster. My Sim tried to stop it and ended up getting killed in the fire.

I also love to trick people into a pool and then take out the ladder so I can have a big graveyard. :)

I once made myself in The Sims.

I ended up catching on fire and dying as a child.

I used to make bands on The Sims, the first one I did on The Sims 2 was Green Day.
Tre Cool went crazy, the Grim Reaper came for him, and Billie Joe Armstrong lost the coin toss.
When I played The Sims, I would always make myself a little kid with no parents or siblings around. Of course, my life became a total disaster, because I forgot to shower a lot, that and I'm a little kid, everything I cook seemed to start a fire.
Then another time I forgot to pause the game and went downstairs to eat dinner. I came back to the game and the kid was dead.
So um, maybe I'll take The Sims 3 seriously. But I doubt that.
On that note, wouldn't it make more sense to make this "The Sims discussion"?

I just thought of an interesting challenge to do:

Do everything using one Sim without the 'aging off' cheat. Make the best business, meet everyone (make friends?), go through all (possible) careers, max all skills, getting all talent badges, write a great novel, paint a masterpiece, have a ton of kids who die in all aspiration levels and dying methods, achieve the lifetime want, and maybe some other stuff. I also remember having ten different life partners that all die from old age, but I don't know what that's all about.

I liked playing the sims but at some point I get to the point where I'm like

"Oh god I need to sleep if I miss work again I'm going to get fired but If I sleep I'm going to starve but If I eat I won't have enough time to go to the bathroom but if I etc."

This.
Too many needs for my attention span.

I tried making a "Bros." family, with Mario, Peach, and Luigi. Within the first week, Mario starved to death. But Peach saved his life.

I suck. I normally use cheats, but I decided not to (I did this a lot before, and it was boring) and phailed.

Also they should have a fiddle contest agaist the Grim Reaper.

What's with Sims dying so easily for you guys? The hardest I had was when I had three adults take care of five toddlers.

Seriously, that's an insanely dificult challenge, and the two adults, six toddlers one seems even MORE difficult.

Dude just start using the 'maxmotives' cheat.
Much much easier.

EDIT: Did anyone else know they're supposed to be making a Sims movie?

Has even less potential to be good than any video game movie ever planned.

I tried reinstalling the Sims 2, but the fourth installation CD won't install. It just sits there after spinning up. Do you think they'd send me a new one if I asked?

If you're running Vista the base game isn't supposed to be compatible with that. You probably just have to downgrade to XP but they MAY send you a good copy.

Running XP. I'll send them an e-mail and see what's what.

Ok, so maybe you just have a crappy copy. If they don't explain buy a new one and see if it works.

I'd would have thought that Wally would have come by already so I can reinstall Sims 2.

Needless to say, I'm going through withdrawal.

Killing Sims is fun. Good anger management, too. Make Sims of people you hate and drown them. Or I guess I could call it insanity fueling. Whatever.
