I realize that the purge at the Fanstuff wiki is happening, but when it's over, can you still be able to create new files like usual?

I shouldn't probably give an answer since I have no official support but... yes, probably.

The way I see it, if they blocked off everything new, the wiki wouldn't grow, right? And at least I'm assuming, that's the least anybody wants.

I don't know anything official either, but I'm a hundred percent certain that it'll be open for new works. Seems kind of pointless to go to the trouble of purging it if you're just going to let it sit there.

Now, I have a new question: will the purge take all week?

Possibly. All the pages are in place, but things like images and users still need to be transferred over. It's an involved process.

Oh, great. Well, I hope they get it done soon.

WAIT WHAT
every user? Even if you're only including active members, there's like... 50. D: Good luck with that, must be pretty tedious.

Actually, IDC, if you're not already doing so, can I request for the user 'Chituze' to be deleted?
(that's my account. :B)

Well, the pictures are in place now; the next step is the users. However, they're not doing it until Thursday for some reason.

The user data might be complicated enough to require a day or so of preparation.

Or maybe he's just busy. Like, in real life. I dunno.

Or both?

Those're my theories.

Well, I suppose you're right. At least they're making progress. But they said it was on Thursday and it's Thursday now. Or at least, where I live, it will be in a few hours, but in other parts of the world, including Atlanta, GA, it's Thursday now, not Wednesday. What gives? Also, what will happen after the user data is finished?

I have a day job. I'm working on the new wiki in the evenings, after work. You need to stop obsessing over this. There is a thread on the fanstuff wiki forum that has way more relevant information on this subject than this one.

Well, it looks like we're making progress again. Hopefully, it shouldn't be too much longer now.

I have a question; So, in the Fanstuff now there is no progress bar so is it done and we can't see it unless we have an account or did you just like not put the bar up. Also will new people be able to create accounts if they haven't done so in the past?

I really hope it will be open to the public (theres flash file of Homeschool winner I despreately need, for reasons I chose not to divulge *eyes twitch back and forth*)

You know how you'll be able to tell when it's done? When it looks like a wiki.

And a lot of us are anxious for it to become a wiki, especially since the progress bar has disappeared.

Is there any vague estimation for when it'll be back up? I'm not asking for the new wiki by next week or anything, but it'd be nice if we could know at least the month you expect it to be functioning.
(And maybe where you're up to in remakingness, if you care to disclose that.)

Thanks! c:

Here's an idea: put up a progress bar that goes extremely slowly and doesn't actually mean anything so people stop asking. Image

My idea was much better: put a fake progress bar that reads "Preparing to blow the whole thing sky-high because of whiny brats who have no life."

Seriously, not naming any specifics, but some of the fanstuff people are really whiny and impatient.

haha, sorry 'bout that. I was trying not to sound arrogant, but it kinda naturally turns out that way. :B

I didn't think you were being arrogant at all. You sounded pretty reasonable, especially considering if I were in you guys' shoes, I would be pretty frustrated with the relative lack of communication. Alas, it can't be helped. Rest assured, however, that the delay isn't simply because I don't want to do it or something sinister like that. There are merely extenuating circumstances that I don't care to go into.

To answer your question, I'd bet dollars to doughnuts the wiki will be functioning this month. My track record in this area is not super stellar, so don't bet actual dollars or doughnuts.

Well, it's nice to know it'll be up by the end of this month like I said it would on the fanstuff forum(which I didn't even know you knew existed, IDC). Now, I get dollars and donuts from those suckers there. Image<--That should seriously be an emoticon here.
