Not that I consider this offensive. I thought it was really funny!

Nothing. In fact I want them to be more offensive.

Why is o holy crap so offensive, it could be talking about anyone. Maby its because i'm an atheist but i didn't realy make a connection to any religious icons. To me it just happened to be to the tune of a religious song.

As for me, i never got offended by hr, i find the concept of bad words stupid, and i love south park sonothing ever got to me. If I had to pick something thats offensive it would be the you stupid A-hole thing in comic, or the fact that the made a responce to the f word in peasents quest.

On the strongbad_email.exe Disc Six DVD, in Email #187 (winter pool), on the hidden creators' commentary, Strong Bad says S**t head. O.O

Nothing on the site has ever offended me. You'd have to say some anti-gay stuff to really offend me. Which hasn't happened and won't happen.

I do know of somebody who thought that :sb: was promoting animal cruelty in one email. for kids, I think it was.

In my opinion, the most offensive thing was "the bird".

I mean, a whole email about flipping people off?

That and S***head are the only things that are really offensive, but a few other things that my mom would cut out have pop'd up from time to time like "I might as well go home and get a teen pregnant."
Edit:I've been made aware that he didn't say the word "A" in "I might as well go home and get a teen pregnant" which makes it less offensive.

I was kinda surprised at "O Holy Crap" just because that's one of the more Jesus-y Christmas songs, but to get offended by anything on H*R would mean that an episode of the The Simpsons must have you in tears. Lord help you if Family Guy ever comes on.

Did you actually realize Strong Bad was saying S***head on the DVD commentary? I didn't since, you know, he pronounces it in a different way (shi-ted).

The most offensive thing is what's NOT on H*R.

The fact that they haven't updated in almost ONE month.

I'd be really surprised if anyone complained about anything on H*R. The only way you could possibly be offended would be if you were the sort of person who is offended by the concept of girls having their ankles showing. Really, even 'the bird' and 'O Holy crap' aren't specific enough to be offensive. 'The bird' never actually shows the middle finger, which is, in essence, the whole point of flipping off. And in 'O holy crap', though likely as it is that the subject is Jesus, it seems to make fun more of the fact that SB has NO IDEA what christmas (or decemberween) is meant to be about than it does christ himself. And swearwords that aren't pronounced completely or meant in an offensive way shouldn't be considered offensive. Maybe it's because of the country I live in, but I knew all the swearwords that are used wholly or partially in H*R when I was 8 years old, and don't consider them the least bit offensive unless they are used for the sole purpose of being offensive.
Sorry for the rant.

Also, in the "Costume Commerical" 'toon, the first announer, at the end, says 'Cheap as Free", but it sounds like "Cheap a** free". Any questions?

The most offensive thing on the website, I think, is the "O Holy Crap" cartoon.

And this doesn't offend me, but on the CD Strong Bad Sings and Other Type Hits, on the song "You've Got an Ugly and Stupid Butt", if I'm not mistaken, Strong Bad says "White girl", which some people might interpret as a racist remark.

Though it has been disputed on occasion (heck, even I can hear it as that).

Don't forget on Sb_Email22 where Strong Bad shared his thoughts on the english. That could offend the English.

I'm English, as in the United Kingdom one. I can't speak for everyone in the UK, but I wasn't in the least bit offended by sbemail 22. I don't even care if that's how TBC really feel about the English, as long as they keep making high quality entertainment!

It wasn't really racist as I recall, more a playful jab at the stereotypical English person (of which I know none), and this fits with Strong Bad's personality pretty well.

On a more related note, Spaz made me wonder what he meant, but I don't think TBC ever want to offend anyone.

Also, there's nothing offensively wrong with HR.com.

Until I read this thread, I didn't know that people actually took the word "crap" more harshly in the UK than here in the States. Here in America, it's just one of those words like "darn" or "heck" that you use to replace a profanity.

I've never been offended by anything on the site, but there's a few things I could see people disagreeing with. I'm surprised no one's mentioned this yet, but in Peasant's Quest, you do a lot of questionable things to the baby: you throw him in a lake, you lower him down a well, and the innkeeper almost gives him a bunch of his pills. It also says the baby develops a drinking problem and blames you for not being there when he grows up. Of course, I took all those things as the jokes they were meant to be and laughed at them, but I could see why some people would get offended by them.

Also, even though I'm a Christian, I wasn't offended by "A Holiday Greeting" (aka "O Holy Crap), though I could see why someone would be.

This doesn't bother me, but some people may be offended by the nighttime driving game on Strong Bad's Message Bored because of the drunk driving reference.

I found it a bit off-putting in Hremail 2000, with Homestar claiming that a girlfriend who thinks is inferior... stupid, I expect from Homestar; misogyny, not so much.

My nerd is probably showing as I write this, but I think that whole "my girlfriend thinks" aside would've been less offensive (and more in character) if it came out of Strong Bad's mouth... SB would consider it a bad thing that the girlfriend is thinking, not because she's female, but just because she's someone who isn't Strong Bad, and thus inferior and insult-worthy.

But yeah, as is, I cringe and fast-forward every time I get to that part of the toon.

I don't find anything in H*R offensive in the slightest, though I wouldn't say I'm easy to offend (strong blood/gore does offend me, but there's none of that in H*R). I'd say the most offensive thing that pops to mind would be "The Cheat's Smoking Challenge"...or even The Cheat's implied smoking habit overall. But I think you'd have to be pretty easily offended to be bothered by that.

[/likes giving his two cents]

I don't think that was what he was saying. I think Homestar meant that girls don't understand men and their shoes. Not that they shouldn't think. Marzipan's one of the smartest characters. You think he'd want to date her if he didn't think she should think?

Honestly, H*R isn't offensive. It would offend me if it was filled with gross violence, graphic expletives, gross shock humor, and filled with racist comments.

Not offense, more like Risky humor, like this one line from the last SBCGFAP:

:sb:: Serviced?!? Where am I supposed to get fan service around here?

Granted, he was talking about the fan inside the machine, but still...

It's one of those "I show you mine, now show me yours" lines.

And some running gags are kinda risky:
