I loved this toon. It was so funny and I've always wanted to see something like it. By the way, I gotta update the Sports page on hrwiki...

It all comes down to this!! I can't believe I was able to register before making this first.

Edit: Looks like it took just a little too long. http://www.homestarrunner.com/kickball.html http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php/Kick-A-Ball

You are missing a poll.
And a wiki link.
And... the toon is missing, um... nothing really, except for a good outcome. 125/127

I was REALLY surprised when I saw the umpire. No wonder this one was delayed, that was a lot of content stuffed into five minutes.

Top Notch! Great to see a toon with an old school feel to it!

5/5

Well, it lived up to its potential much better than last week's Big Toon lived up to its. When the transcript's finished I may even make a signature out of it. Hopefully the competition theme means we can expect great things for the 10th anniversary of Homestar Runner's internet debut (unless it's not 'til next year). However, I started getting enraged at the sight of Strong Bad smiling because every instance now makes me feel like screaming, "How can you other Wiki members still believe this isn't an excessively common gagoccurrence!?"

Edit: How did 4 posts appear above mine?! Are these forums glitched? Notthatitmatters.

It was pretty alright. The only thing that really got a laugh out of me was "I have no idea who I'm broadcasting to!" But where was Homsar? D:

Homsar is only sort of in the main cast. I liked it a lot, but it wasn't hilarious enough for the coveted 5/5. I give it a 4/5.

I liked the return of the umpire, and "Sonic! I mean, Tails."

Outstanding!! Great to see them "back to their roots."

I think 10-year-anniversary was last year. Or maybe the year before . . . Whenever we got the updated Strongest Man in the World Contest.

I cracked myself up when Homestar muttered when choosing his team and the part with Pom-Pom's cousin. Also; The Umpire!! Man, I've been wondering where that man is at!

We got it in 2006, and that marked the 10th anniversary of Homestar Runner, the character. I clearly wrote, "the 10th anniversary of Homestar Runner's internet debut."

The fact no one said anything like, "Oh, you're so right about Strong Bad Smiling, BBG" is tempting me to quote Simon and Garfunkel...

Quite possibly my new favorite toon of all time. Best parts were:

"I have no idea who I'm broadcasting to!"
Homestar picking Pom Pom. And then Pom Pom. And then Pom Pom. Repeat infinatum.
Strong Mad: "WHAT THE CRAP!?"
"JUST PITCH THE FREAKING BALL!!"
Pom Pom's cousin ACTUALLY appearing.
And so many others I can't remember. This toon freaking ROCKS!

Can't even think of where to start......

Onion bubs, the thing in a bag, Strong Mad's first "crap" and Strong Bad's habit of getting beaten at his own game!

I've missed seeing the whole cast together. 5/5, couldn't have rocked any harder.

Randomness + unexpectancies + inside references = EXCELLENT TOON!

I cannot begin to list my favorite parts of this toon! 5/5

Marzi's quote "This keeps teetering between hilarious and maybe-we-should-put-him-in-a-home." surprised me, since I'm actually writing a H*R story about just that. Otherwise I thought this toon was pretty awesome. It's cool to see more characters from Free Country. Plus Coach Z continues to get weirder and weirder...

So, TBC aren't putting credits on any of their big toons now? They didn't do it with the Space Captainface cartoon either. I guess after 10 years of credits they don't have to do it anymore.

Awesome. I would almost say that the only thing that could have made it better would be Homsar (he's my favorite character, maybe), but the toon clearly didn't need him.
so :homsar: :homsar: :homsar: :homsar: :homsar: / :homsar: :homsar: :homsar: :homsar: :homsar:

I'm not sure whether I liked this one that much. Although the Homestar Pom Pom thing near the start was pretty hilarious. And Coach Z was at his creepy best. But yeah...not as funny as I was expecting.
But the umpire, woo! Only a couple of days ago I was thinking that guy should be made a Flash character.
OH, AND ONION BUUUUUUUUUBS!
Actually, Strong Mad was pretty funny in this one, when he wasn't picked, and again, and then finally picked. Which is pretty weird.

In my opinion, this is the flagship toon for 2009 thus far... As many have already said, it seemed to carry a bunch of their old school style. Makes me miss my neghibourhood kickball days.

Really a fantastic cartoon. It featured many characters, yet didn't dwell too long on any. Just as long as it needed to be The fast-paced humor and editing gave it a hectic feel, yet you could catch every punchline. Just a beautiful piece of work, likely to go down with 20X6 vs. 1936, 50 Emails, and Date Nite.

Five stars.

This was well worth the wait! Strong Mad's "WHAT THE CRAP?!" and Marzi's "This keeps teetering between hilarious and maybe-we-should-put-him-in-a-home." made my day. By far one of the best toons yet. Heck, even Onion Bubs made an appearance!

LOL HOMESTAR.
actually scrap that, LOL EVERYBODY.
This bears disturbing resemblance to a WIP-fanfic posted like 3 days ago.

(i actually do agree about SB smiling, in fact all the 'X smiling' articles and a bunch of 'running gags' aren't really neccessary either. But I'm not going through all of them until my term break.)

Highly enjoyable. Like many others have said, It's always fun to have a back-to-their-roots type of toon. I really enjoyed the KoT being catapulted. That and most of the same funny lines everyone else has already been mentioning. It was also cool to see another Pom, even if just for a short time.

First toon I've laughed out loud at for a while now. It was like a return of the not-used-so-much characters show!
Onion Bubs
The Umpire
The Commentator...
what next? Mr Bland and Senor?

Loved it 5/5

EDIT*
Also, Strong Mad's 'WHAT THE CRAAAAAP!' and the 'put him in a home' comment made it the best 2009 toon so far.

If you watch it expecting the all out comedy of a sbemail then it seems a little disappointing, but on a second watch then it is a good solid cartoon and as the others have said, a nice return to the classic style.

Ranks second in my 2009 listings, after 'Best Caper'.

This had been the best toon in awhile, if not of all time. It was just nice to see so many of the characters just hanging out and being themselves.

Also, I like Marzi's boots.

Also, Onion Bubs!

This toon was full of so much awesome. Funny, I didn't really laugh out loud at much of it, but it had a lot of clever jokes that made me crack a grin. No slow parts, just nonstop fun. I think it will just get funnier through repeated viewings.

It had a good mixture of old and new. In-jokes and references to old toons, but also instant comedy. Way better than last week's "Big Toon". I like how they brought back an old character (the umpire) and made him new.

Strong Bad smiling really isn't notable anymore. It's not like he was ever acknowledged as "the character who never smiles", so it's really not like it's something against his nature to do so. We just didn't see him in those situations before, particularly since a large portion of the time all we've seen is the back of his head, and the reflection of his face in his computer monitor.

I'd love it if they brought back Mr. Bland. He was always one of my favorite of the little-seen characters, and this was only enhanced by his portrayal in the enhanced "Strongest Man in the World" toon.
