The recent downtime got me thinking..... this place can't possibly last forever. Maybe the bandwidth costs will get too huge and Joey won't be able to support us anymore. (donate people!) Maybe it will happen when TBC finally end the show and there is nothing more to say about it. Either way, the wiki will end someday. What will you do when it's all over?

This is all that I have. I've got nowhere elso to go!

I dunno.....maybe I'll go back to Gamespot forum, maybe the CAD forum, or maybe I'll actually do my homework.....

Well, I would donate, but I'm not old enough to have a credit card, and I don't think my parents would want to donate money to a website they've never even heard of.

I think about stuff like this all the time. How many of these online places like this I go to will still actually be around in, say, 50 years, if there will even BE an internet at all? And this applies to a lot of different things in life as well - it's depressing to think about, and it's something I really shouldn't. :sad:

I'm not overly familiar with how the Wiki is run or funded, but I'd think it's gotta last as least as long as homestarrunner.com itself, if not longer. Now I've gotten into the habit of actually going HERE to find about updates first, especially since SBemails often uploaded first before any actual announcement on H*R.com. I don't know what I'd do when it goes.

This is the only thing worth while I can find on the internet. When it's gone I don't know what I'll do.

I've seen numerous beloved websites come and go. I'll feel sad, but I'll enjoy my extra free time.. and then I'll get sucked into another website/message board, because there is no true escape.. I must continue to patrol through tha intarwebb.

Wow, I don't know what I'll do will the site still be here when it dies. Or will all the precious conversations be lost forever? At any rate I think we'll be going for a little while longer it'll just slowly become overwhelming. How much does it cost to keep this site up?

I would be disappointed to see it all go. But all good things have to end sometime. Hopefully, not any time in the near future though.

My dad's heard of the Wiki (he's got it in his bookmarks), I don't think he would be opposed to my using his credit card to donate.

As for myself, I'd be annoyed if the wiki died, because I like having encyclopedias of information to hand (though in the event that my interest in H*R wanes, I suppose it won't matter so much). I'll get by just fine without the forum, since it's not as if I have any particular friendships here, and there's half a dozen other online hangouts where I do

Wow, that's like some of my friends. They think that I'm a geek because I use the Wiki.....and it's true.

This is one of the things I've always wondered about.
After the wiki, I would probably have much better grades in school.
And, I would be more active.
So, it wouldn't be too bad. I lived thirteen years without it, how hard would it be to live more?
But, I will still miss this place.

well, it's kind of ironic that I told you to donate because I can't myself. As a debt-ridden college student, I have other things to worry about financially. But when the wiki ends, I'll probably have something else that I'm really into by then, so I'll be fine. I really don't know what I'll be doing.

That's what the donations are for. Joey stopped being able to support the Wiki a long time ago.

Do you think that this website would ever become subscription? How does Wikipedia keep it's stuff agoing?

The wiki, it's.... very useful, but nothing sentimental. It's the forum I like. If the forum dies, I'll ask everyone to go to Porple's.

Eh, things come and go. Though I don't think I've had as much fun anywhere else as I've had on the wiki/forum. I'll try and support myself on the SpongeBob and Cheats Wikis, but those will eventually die too. Maybe I'll go back to GunBound...
