This is a poster from Strong Sad's room, featured in "gimmicks." It was rumored to be Morpheus from the "Sandman" series, but further investigation couldn't confirm this one way or the other. Does anyone know what it is? We're looking for a link to an online source, if available. Please post any info you have on this page. Thanks.

Either of what?

Either it's (1) Morpheus or (2) something else, and everything that exists fits into one of those two categories. I personally think it's not Morpheus, but I don't know what it is, and that's what we're trying to figure out here.

Looks a lot like a professionally done painting. Have you tried looking around for a signature? I don't see one but maybe one with more astute vision than I could see it...

I found this page, a page with a picture identical to Strong Sad's poster all about this sand man guy.

Ooh. Good work. How did you find that? Just an image search or something more complex?

This page is the one where that image came from. Unfortunately, it doens't really give any information about who created the image or what larger work, if any, it comes from. And how come that image just shows up once in a search, instead of many times?

Questions, questions... all I have are questions.

That was a simple google image search. I searched some stuff for information on the sandman, and there's some guy who does paintings of this Morpheus character or something, but either way I don't know how that Tripod site obtained that image. Maybe this person owned the comic books and scanned the image or something?

It's from the Neil Gaiman's Sandman. It's on Vertigo and worth picking up.

Strong Sad has been using Morpheus in his SadJournal a lot I believe, so it's probably him.

Well, yeah, that's what we thought at first, but then we couldn't find this picture anywhere.

I don't suppose anyone can cite the specific source (comic book, web page, or whatever) with some kind of reference that can be looked up?

DeathlyPallor just did. Neil Gaiman, Sandman.

Yeah! Google Neil Gaiman or DC Vertigo comics. You'll find info there. And there's always Wiki.

Gosh, I don't know how we completely forgot how to use the Internet. I notice you didn't provide any kind of link. :p Seriously, don't you think we have tried that already?

That isn't enough information. There are at least 10 volumes of Sandman comics, and none of the cover art that I've come across matches our poster. We need an ISBN or the specific volume number (preferably with page reference) or a URL or something other than a vague description that we can point to.

Well of course you aren't going to find Morpheus... when he is ready to find you, he will.

Hmm..

Perhaps this isn't on the comic cover, but instead was a promotional piece? Maybe the Brothers Chap were fans, and went to a Comic-Con to get a poster like that?

I know this is a bit of a stupid question, but have you tried asking TBC themselves? Like through e-mail?

If I really thought they could be bothered to answer something like this, there are a host of other, more important questions I would ask first.
