Allrighty.

Some of you may have noticed that I temp-banned Teff in the "Leaving?" thread.

Some of you guys have been on this forum for a long time.

Not as long as ME, mind you, but a while nonetheless.

Remember, the rules apply to you no matter how "cool" you are with the admins and no matter how long you've been here and no matter how big your post count is.

Note: This thread is open for discussion.

So..is he banned permenently? Or just for a while?(If you admins can do that.)

Banning him may have been a tad harsh. But then again, rules are rules.

It depends on whether he can remain civil for the next week or so.

I can't help but feeling this all could have been avoided.

Anyways, I know rule #1, but since you've said this thread is open for discussion, don't you think you were a little harsh on Teff? You made a point, a good one, but I don't think what he did deserved a suspension. You could've made the same point - perhaps not as strongly, but it'd be said and noted - with something less severe. I've seen much worse offenses go by with just a warning (And multiple warnings were given before any real punishment was put into place). Yes, I know it's your choice, but I'd like to hear your reasoning.

You did nothing wrong. Some people don't like other people who do things that annoy them.

Anyway, no I don't. Since you've been on the forum, how many people have you seen me ban? I keep a running tally in my head of offenses and warnings given.

He had no chance to get a single warning, because he got all 3 of his strikes at once.

I know that half the [s]dictators[/s] mods and/or admins are going to hate me for posting this, but I think that a ban was a bit harsh. Maybe some form of forum probation would be more in place. I mean, the only person that was really instigated, provoked, or ticked off by that was... you. While I agree that Teff needed some reprimandation for the thing, as I said, it was a bit minor for a ban. <hides in a corner till sundawn>

I don't know if this counts as double posting or not, but I wrote that last post. I just forgot whether I was logged in, and I had no idea that guest posting was enabled. Sorry. Anyway, toastpaint, and I stand by what I said.

Okay, for the past coupla weeks, ive been on the gabbly and ive seen certain users talking about other users behind their back. ive seen them insult them, tell them how much they hate them, and all of their flaws and the like. it started with Funk, then it went on to alec, then onto teff, and now its on Jello because of some comment he made about his awards.
Theres too much hate going on, people everyone once liked are now being singled out and talked down on. something has to be done about all the hate thats floating over Forumopolis latley.

Either way, I'll just get my two eurocents in........ I noticed that sometimes the admins/mods are a bit inconsistant with their punishments. Take Rosie and Clan - they should have been banned as soon as they started causing trouble. And then Teff gets banned for a pretty minor infraction.

I'm not saying that Teff didn't deserve a reprimand, but a little more consistancy, eh.....?

Exactally, this forum used to be a happy place with rainbows and unicorns, now it is all hate and I really don't like this, also, why is there all this hate? I really don't hate anybody here, people may hate me but I dont care, and nobody really deserves to be hated, and Teff didn't deserve to be banned (although I was confused by the triple post.)

My point is, that people need to stop hateing and need to try and talk to the people that they are having problems with instead of talking about them behind their backs!

Darn straight, The Chekt, we gotta compaign against all this hate going around! we gotta do something about it.

Good, I'm glad it was a temp-ban. I personaly think that banning him was harsh. I mean? Just for a tripple post? All he needed was a stern warning. But its done now, so lets move on.

As for the 'cloud of hate' thing, I agree totaly. I noticed it as soon as the alex thing happend. People got angry, started choosing sides, thretend to leave. The forum is slowly degrading form a close knit famly to a collection of people who hate and are suspicous of each other. THIS WILL BE THE DOWNFALL OF THE FORUM. Lets stop this snowball before it gets too big to stop.
