 Post subject: Yellow Dellow Drawing Style

How come the characters in Yellow Dellow look so bad and inconsistent? Like TBC were lazy or something. Is there a reason, or is it just like that?

It's just a different art style. They were probably going for an artsy approach.

I couldn't find anything about it on the Wiki page, but I think it's just because it's a really old Homestar Runner toon made back in 2000, so the animation style is bad(maybe this was one of TBC's test cartoons to test out flash?). I don't really know, though.

Just to let you guys know, it wasn't because they are lazy. It is actually harder to do flash like that. Because they have to redraw everything instead of using the same images all the time, like they do now.

It was probably just a gimmick, like the Reddest Radish's style.

And I really would have prefered them doing it normally.

Anyone know of any cartoons which feature that kind of weird, shapeshifting drawing in them? I had assumed maybe Yellow Dello's trippy approach was inspired by some other toon

I was thinking more of a toon outside of Homestar Runner. Like how they were influenced by Bod, maybe there's another toon which features this kind of art and which they were taking inspiration from. Or maybe a kids' book they read once or something

It was a very old toon and they were probably still experimenting with art styles.

True, but Marshmallow's Last Stand was made before this, and that was in a good drawing style...
