I love candy bars and I love peperoni. It's about time someone brought them together into one tasty treat. Seriously though. Best email in a while.

i think i heard that marshie's voice is done by saying something backwards, and then reversing it to make it sound really creepy. i did that, saying "get out of my room" and rigging it so it would play when my door was opened. it gave my sister nightmares.

I found this email refreshing. I'd almost given up on Homestar and then they did an email like this. It was the first time in a long time I watched an email twice in a row. I laughed until I puked my pants.

No, that wouldn't work... it's come out all garbled, and it's REALLY HARD to say things in such a way that when you reverse them, they sound marignally alright. There's no way Marshie's voice could be done like that. But they could've speeded it up a little...

It woudn't be too hard. I've doen it a couple times. You just say the line, reverse it, then mimic the reverse line, and reverse that.

I'm still skeptical... Unless TBC are reeeally good at it, it seems really hard to me to make it sound that natural.

Rich, creamy... pepperoni! Brilliant. I didn't see it coming! That easter egg was most likely the most unsettling in Homestar Runner history.

Eh, it was ok.
It felt rushed and the comic timing was a bit off for my taste.

The Marshie Easter Egg was probably done with a weird digital effect. I saw on the DVD that they recorded using Adobe Audition, which has a bunch of preset flangers. It's really easy to create an effect like that.

I agree. It's far too coherent to be a backwards thing. They did this on Twin Peaks and you needed subtitles to understand the speech.

It's probably just Marshie's normal voice with a weird effect put on it. This is probably the dumbest comparison ever but if anyone's played the DS game Electroplankton, for the one plankton that lets you record your voice and then warp it, one of the effects sounds almost exactly like how Marshie sounds in the easter egg, with that garbly underwater-sort-of effect.

That is the awesomest analogy ever drawn.

And people wonder why I have terrible nightmares about Marshie. I swear, that that... thing is why the Cheat has to sleep with The Denzel. I bet Marshie was in that damnable shock-you-mentary about gingivitis. Man. I need a glass of suudsu after that email.

Best one in a while. But, due to the fact of it's length and it not being the BEST of the BEST:

Heh, I liked this one. I keep a periodic table of candy elements on my wall now.

In a prime coincidence, on Tuesday, an episode of The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy aired, which included Pud'n saying the line "Mr. Skarr, there's a candy bar in the pool!"

By logic, wouldn't "Edgar's baby's daddy" be Edgar? Unless of course he adopted.

Why are we automatically ruling out the record backwards / reverse? If Kate Bush can do it so can TBC.

Marshie did not creep me out. Anyways, I found the candy bard commercial and Strong Sad giving the thumbs up funny. And...yeah.

9.2/10.
