Okie dokie boys and girls, let's get down to buisness.

Quote:
I don't think that Desmond died, he's eluded death far too many times to have been killed by a nasty flash.

I'd also like to think that the hatch went back in time, that's what the flash was. A massive expenditure of power to send Desmond, Eko and Locke back to a time when both Kelvin and Radvinsky (who had committed suicide) are both alive and they end up influncing the events that lead up to the current timeline. I accually thought the entire island went back in time for a second, the flying quarientine door was enough to get me thinking that the island may have gone back to the date where their plane crashed but that was quickly dismissed.

On the subject of Henry, I think he's either the leader or a high ranking member of the others. This is exactly why the rest of the others wanted him in particular back so bady, it also explains his prodigious knack for playing "Iago" between Locke and Jack; the leader of a super-ninja village of castaways has to be clever.

It made sense that Desmond may have caused the plane crash, I mean a plane is made almost entirely of metal and that magnet looked really powerful. Could Locke's little fauxpas (if I'm wrong about the time travel idea) have downed another plane?

Predictions I have for the future:

Charlie and Claire are totally going to keep on hitting it off until one of them is killed off in a Whedon-esque fashion.

Sayid, Jin and Sun are going to either be captured by the Others as well or they're going to end up exploring that small island with the four toed foot and find yet another hatch to explore.

Jack, Sawyer and Kate are going to have God-aweful experements done to them in search of a secret none of them know (as in The Others have the wrong people).

Hurly may become the new leader in Jack's absence.

We definately havn't seen the last of Michael and Walt.

Aaron Littleton may end up manifesting some sort of special ability.

The secondary characters will get a little more face time, some episodes may show some backstories and such.

Something big is going to happen on the 108th day the crash survivors are on the island(Locke has already mentioned that it's been 60-someodd days).

Questions I had:

What was the name of Desmond's book?

Could Mr. Friendly and Kelvin be the same person?

If not, could the Dharma Initative be a goverment program? Kelvin was in the military along with Kate's step father during the Gulf War.

Long Post TOTPD! :eekdance::eekdance::eekdance:

Edit: In part of the spoilers I got my Shakespere characters mixed up.

As I said in a previous post, the spoiler period extends one week after the original U.S. airing. I think that's perfectly reasonable. Please respect users who haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

PTC:

Quote:
I also don't think Desmond is dead, but mostly because we now know Penelope is searching for him, and this being TV we need some sort of tearful reunion a couple seasons from now.

I don't think there's any time travel involved. There's definitely some weird supernatural stuff going on, but time travel is a stretch. Abrams & Co. know their audie
nce, and it's not a sci-fi audience who would be satisfied with a time travel explanation.

On "Henry"...
Quote:
I agree that Henry is pretty high in the ranks, but while he was locked in the hatch he alluded to "Him," a higher-up that would punish him if he told them anything ("He is a great man, a brilliant man, but not a forgiving man."). Of course, it's perfectly likely that that was part of his cunning emotional manipulation, but I think the Others are part of something much larger and it will be a long, long time before we see who's at the top.

On the book...
Quote:
The book is Dickens' Our Mutual Friend. From LostPedia: "The book is about the son of a tycoon who must marry a specific woman to inherit his father's fortune. He shuns this, leaves, is presumed drowned, which is untrue. He returns under a new identity, gets hired at a company related to his father, marries the same woman on his own merit, not on his father's riches, and only afterwards, assumes his original identity and inherits his fortune."

Sound familiar?

On K and Mr. F...
Quote:
I think I already answered this question here. They're played by two different actors and don't really look alike. I mean, maybe he got radical plastic surgery or something--I wouldn't put it past J.J., considering the multiple doppelgangers on Alias--but it's two different actors.

Actually, we're not sure if that was the same guy. One is Kelvin Inman, the other (in Iraq) was Joe Inman. So either it's the same guy (my guess), or they're twins or clones.

I don't think what I'm about to say is a spoiler, because I saw this the first time I saw the initiantion video. Dharma is a branh of the Hanson foundation, a real life scientific group.

Yes, Dharma = Hanso, but Hanso is also fictional.

No, there are commercials for it during Lost! My mom and I, and my friend saw it.

I've seen 'em too. They're a clever little marketing plot.

No, the Hanso foundation is not real. Yes, there are commercials for it and they're basically advertising Lost.

Yes, I know. The commercials are part of The Lost Experience, an interactive "alternate reality" game that's being used to promote the show. Fictional.

(The old chestnut "Just because you see it on TV doesn't mean it's true" is doubly true for TV commercials.)

Right. I am playing the Lost Experience, so trust me, THF and Dharma are both fictional.

Who saw Jimmy Kimmel? Hugh McIntye of the Hanso Foundation was on. I thought it was a bit dissapointing, but then again, he was so fakey, I doubt that it was actually Hugh, and he must have be lying.

Hey I found something out about the numbers. It is probably a conciendnce but its still cool. Im substiuting numbers for letters. Ex: A=1 B=2...
4 stands for D, and the 8 stands for H. The 1 in 15 and 16 stand for 2 A's. Then all you have left is 5 6 23 42. 5 plus 6 plus 2 equals 13 which is M. Then all you have is 42 and 3. 2 plus 4 is 6, times 3 is 18, which is R. Put those words toghether and it spells Dhrama.

I no its a conciendnce, ts just cool.

Does anyone else find it funny that the magnet can rip an airplane out of the sky, but it doesn't effect the computer's screen or memory at all? A ring magnet can mess with your TV, and I'm pretty sure that the old computers in the background use magnetic strips to encode data. I guess the scripts can't be perfect.

Holy snaps! Me too! I was so excited until Sayid noticed it only had four toes. Oh well, since Colossus never was officially documented, it could have four toes for all we know

I think we can safely assume that the Colossus of Rhodes had five toes. The Colossus was a statue of the Greek god Helios, and as far as I know all popular depictions of the Greek gods from that period had five toes (and other features consistent with human anatomy).

With lost coming up, I thought I make a thread about it. (That other Lost Thread was just the last episode.) So who is into Lost? Besides Jones, I can tell he likes it from his Sig.

I do a podcast about LOST. I LOVE LOST! It's my favorite show on TV, besides Futurama.

I enjoy Lost, although I've missed almost all of the first season (although Wikipedia helped me find out what happened on them).

Can't wait for the next season to begin airing next Wednesday.

Um... sorry to crush your hopes and dreams, but the third season starts on October 4, which is four weeks away.

Did you SEE the season finale??!

Yeah...this has ABP'd....LOST is one of my favorite shows...seen every episode, participate in the LOST experience, read LOSTPedia avidly, and am PUMPED about the third season. I often wonder if the writers can keep it up, though.

I'm in the middle of the 2nd season DVD. I can't wait for the season finale and Season 3 premire.
