Buhubs - just because you DON'T like it doesn't mean that people won't, too. I like it.

TBC are not putting another toon off the site. They said that they wanted to get those two removed ones on the site someday, so i doubt they would put MORE there.

Darth Katana is entitled to his opinion, even if it isn't one many of us would agree with. I've got to say though, I'm pretty sure that this is the first and only time that a H*R 'toon and blasphemy have been mentioned in the same sentence.

(I'm going to apologize in advance for the following comments. Please don't ban me for having an opinion and expressing it as such. And if you do, at least do so with minimal embarrassment.)

OK, there is nothing on the site that would garner more than a PG rating. Nothing, OK?

"Rear male nudity" in Yello Dello? Gee, let's see.. PG for brief mild crude humor, perhaps?

Oh, wait, it's obviously offensive... PG-13 for blatant crude humor.

Nah, let's step it up a bit... R for blatant, offensive adult content. Happy now, everyone?

As for the Holiday Greeting one... You think that commercialism and (ahem) MESSING UP THE LYRIKZZ!!!11 is offensive, eh? Well, let's see if this offends you: (BTW, I'm an atheist and proud of it, man! And although I do acknowledge that Jesus existed, I reject all of the magical son-of-God miracle making crap.)

Jesus has a 2.3% chance of not being the most important person who ever lived. And toys are fun.

I'm going to now silently watch and see what happens... If people are idiots, this thread will eventually be locked. And by that I don't mean having opinions that I [s]think are incredibly stupid[/s] respect, I actually mean being so staunch about them that you launch a FLAMEWARX0RX!!!!111 Goodbye.

that's gotta be my least favorite toon by far.

i dont think that any will be removed, though. if one if removed, it would probably be... A Jorb Well Done. I mean, i liek it and all, but it's kind of outa date. and the voices arent sounding alot like the current ones. Like Homestar's for instance. He doesnt have that much of an impediment.

Yeah, I don't like it, but it sn't offensive, because Strong Bad is made out to be the villian of the show.

Homestar, being the (seemingly) oblivious righttous one, steps in and stops Stong Bad. Therefore, I think the purpose of that cartoon was to remind those that Strong Bad is the villian of the 'toons. In Sbemails he isn't though.

What I did find offensive was an above post by... The Snork.

Offensive, eh? I suppose I should moderate myself better. Now that I look back, that post makes me look like a raving moron, doesn't it. OK, fine, you win. But still, how does not knowing the lyrics to a song about Jesus/having a different opinion than you/DEGRADING OUR MORELS AND VALUEZ (sorry) make anybody a villian?

Cuz, it's one of those things, you know. Homestar would just say "I forgot my lines!", but Strong Bad would say "Oh holy crap! Something Something Something..."

Yes, but which one is funnier to people that aren't that outspoken about their love of Jesus? AKA, most people that visit the site.

I praise you, The Snork, for your post. Not last place. *Ding!*

I am also an Atheist (And just as proud) and I couldn't care less if they referenced Jebus in one of their 'toons. Why do you think they're calling Christmas "Decemberween" now? I'm sure The Brothers Chaps don't mean to and are trying their best not to offend anyone, especially with religious crap. The song in "A Holiday Greeting" is just a spoof of "O Holy Night" and it's supposed to be a joke. It's supposed to make you laugh. Not start a flamewar over it. Be happy! They could always remove every single 'toon and email from the site since they contain so much "violence". The "violence" makes it funny. And there's been swears and almost-swears, too. I'm sure none of you have ever seen or heard a swear word and have never seen blood/"violence"/"offensive nudity" in other cartoons. And I'm sure you haven't seen references to religions in other cartoons as well. [/rant]

--

As for any 'toon being removed, I highly doubt it. Unless they get lots of complaints from people sensitive to and offended by this so-called "Violence" and the "References to Jebus", I'm sure all the 'toons are staying.

I don't think that toon should be removed just because it referenced Jesus. I'm a Christian too, but I don't find it offensive. It's like if they removed the scene with Linus talking about the baby Jesus in the Charlie Brown Christmas special because it mention Jesus. Besides, it's the first Homestar Runner toon that involved around the winter Holidays, so don't be too hard on it too much.

although I am sure any admin here is better than that, I feel the need to note that the right to free speech only says that the government cant silence you, Admins on a website can.

but like I said, any admin here is better than that.

now, on to my prediction.

My guess is Yellow Dello due to the jumpyness of drawings and need of update

Why would they remove a toon from the site? The only ones they did were Marshmallow's Last Stand and Jumping Jack Contest and they were a long time ago.

This thread isn't about what should be removed; it's about what's likely to be removed, as Marshmallow's Last Stand and A Jumping Jack Contest were. I'm sure we've got a thread somewhere about toons you don't like, but this one isn't it.

Here's a long post, very sorry.

Guns are in: Pistols for Pandas; Cheat Commandos; "Where's an Egg" (References to the USSR government shooting the player if he doesn't find an egg, or shooting people who may or may not be innocent.); Dangeresque; Riverquest SafariVenture

Other weapons: Too Many Knives; the painting of the guy with a knife; Rocket launchers; and I seem to remember references to made-up weapons, but I am not as savvy as other users of this wiki, I'm sure.

Random violence/references to violence/Crime related: "I'll kill all your dogs (dolls?);" Kick the Cheat; The Goat Face Killa; Egging people (And their houses); Locking Strong Sad up every Decemberween, and pummeling him every chance that he gets; Pea-burying the King of Town Alive; Wishing everyone dead at some point or other.

Other: We see butt cleavage in the first Compe e-mail. That is

Lastly, the wiki: http://www.hrwiki.org/wiki/Category:Violence
There is a section devoted to blood.

As for O Holy Crap, I always thought that was a witty way to present what SB would think of the Christmas Story. He isn't nice or appropriate. He's Strong Bad. He is, among other things, a jerk with no sensitivity. His big start was making fun of the people who write to him - look at the way he doesn't even spare children in the costume review. Also, the hero of the website is shocked by what he finds inappropriate. To me, that seems a statement that this is not just offense for offense' sake, (If it can be considered offense.)

Strong Bad is not a smart guy, is he? He often shows he doesn't understand people, what they like or what they believe. And he doesn't care. Seriously, if he were talking about this topic, would he be nice and respectful? I highly doubt that, because the only stuff he seems to enjoy is playing video games, the junkiest of junkfoods, causing havoc and arguments, and beating people unfairly. Or just beating them up.

As for whether they should get rid of any, I think only if they can't afford more bandwidth. I don't think the Yello Dello will go away, because they updated it. Still, I don't want to see anything go away because part of HR's coolness is that it has something for almost everybody. This site is irreverent, absurd and only just inappropriate enough to ensure we don't get in trouble at school or work. I think it should stay that way and that the TBC should do whatever the heck they want.

Personally, I think that Sbemail 22 should be removed. It pokes fun of the English and uses the wod bullocks, a swear in England. The line "Screw all ya'll" is also bad.
A Holiday greeting should not be removed. How do we know it offended Jesus? And Yello Dello should just be moved to the museum.

Yes it is a swear. Look up the sex pistols' discography on Wikipedia and and find the one called "never mind the bullocks" and you will see the insane controversy it caused. It's a swear.

Once again, I ask us to get back on topic. This thread is not about toons that you dislike or even are offensive. It's about toons likely to be removed as Marshmallow's Last Stand and Jumping Jack Competition were.

I think old toons of King of Town and yello dello could be removed but keep the new ones.

Did you hear the Chapman bros were planning to remove two toons from the website?

I don't really think any will be removed. Also, I'm pretty sure
"bullocks" means oxen. The gag is probably that Strong Bad
used the wrong word; there's a one letter difference between
bullocks and the expletive in question. But feel free to correct
me if I'm wrong, though.

How do you know it was insulting Jesus? Strong Bad was just singing about a stupid guy in the tune of 'Oh, Holy Night'. It didn't mention Jesus. It didn't mention that it was the son of God. I don't think TBC did, or never will, make fun of a religious figure for I read somewhere that they were part Catholic.

Well, when I got to meet them, they explained that in
"A Holiday Greeting", Strong Bad was being the bad kid
in Sunday school who forgot the lyrics and purposely
messed up his performance.

Also, the song was about a cool guy who people thought
may have been stupid, so they tried to get some advice
on the matter.

P.S. Galvabad, because of your avatar, you have won
the Internet. Or something.
