Earlier today, I was attempting to make Windows XP appear more Vista-like by installing a theme (VistaXP) and changing some of the icons to their Vista forms. During this process, two questions have arisen:

1) I noticed that when you change a folder icon to something different, it only applies to that one folder. Is there a way to change all folders at once to a different icon?

2) For some reason, whenever I open a regular folder now, it always leads directly to the search function instead of displaying what's actually in the folder. If I click on another folder inside that folder, it opens into a new window and still displays the search function instead of the files. Any tips on what may be the problem?

Thanks for any replies.

Man, I haven't used Windows in forever. I can't remember about the first one (although I'm sure there's a way to do it, so keep looking) and that second one is messed up and I have no idea how to fix it.

In conclusion...

Slashdot answer: GET A REAL OPERATING SYSTEM YOU N00B
4chan answer: rule 34 on search box plz
Digg answer: GTFO windows is flawless you must've done something really messed up

If Windows was flawless, you wouldn't be able to do anything to mess it up. As it is, sometimes you just have to look at it funny, or breathe the wrong way, and Windows screws up.

Well, I suppose you could do something like install Norton Utilities. Or pull the memory out of the machine while it's powered up.

The Digg answer is more like "GET A MAC."

For changing all folders I think you'd have to edit the resources?
